Posted | Discussion |
Feb. 20 SSUSA Staff 3505 posts | The SSUSA initial team ratings for 2009 are nearly concluded. Here is an update: Analysis of Teams Evaluated 102 Teams moved up (or staying at Major+) automatically (See Note 1) 44 Appeals submitted and reviewed, with preliminary proposed decisions made 93 Teams noted and evaluated for other reasons (See Note 2) ---- 239 Total teams originally reviewed by SSUSA home office This has been the most comprehensive ratings evaluation process in the history of the SSUSA and, as such, has taken longer than we originally projected. Preliminary proposed decisions regarding the above 239 teams were compiled and distributed on February 15th to the 10 members of the SSUSA National Ratings Committee for their individual and confidential comment. None of the Committee members know who the other nine members are. The committee was also asked to bring to the attention of the SSUSA Home Office any other teams which merit consideration for a ratings change, either upward or downward, and the basis for that recommendation. It is possible as many as 300 teams may ultimately be evaluated as to potential changes in their 2009 rating. The SSUSA National Rating Committee comment period closes at 5:00 PM Pacific time today, February 20, 2009, at which time all Committee members must submit their reports. A final review, and related decisions, will then be made. We anticipate the public release of the 2009 ratings changes to occur within the next two weeks. __________ Note 1 - Winners of the National or World Championships of the Summit member organizations (SSWC, ASA, ISF, ISA, ISSA, LVSSA, SPA and SSWS) automatically moved up (or staying at Major+). Note 2 - Teams identified by the SSUSA home office for consideration of a ratings move, upward or downward, based upon performance data during the 2008 tournament season. |
