As an alternative for some of the 50 major Plus teams around the country maybe an alternative is to partner up with your local SSUSA representative or director that is listed by clicking on the links tab and seeing if they would be interested in adding a 40 division. With the hard work of the 40 national director Mike Williams who is in Southern California it looks like this division is really taking off on the west coast. The two major plus teams in Southern California look like we will be a beneficiary of all this hard work. It will give these two teams an opportunity on a routine basis to play in a very competitive environment where the outcomes are anything but assured. There is also a growing movement from what I can gather in Northern California among the 40 plus players to do the same. Hopefully the two 50 major plus teams will be able to take advantage of this and participate in these tournaments. I noticed that Shane up in the Northwest is going to add a 40 division in one of his tournaments here is hoping that he has the resources to contact perspective teams and maybe with the help of the Northwest Legends and 4 Seasons out of Oregon they can help Shane. I would think this model has validity anywhere a 50 major plus or two reside they can partner with their local directors and shake some 40 teams out and get a nice sized tournament started. This looks to be a growing trend and I am hoping to be a part of LVSSA in Las Vegas adding a 40 division to their two events in 2010. To any 50 major plus player reading this to let you know how this can add to your having a tournament or tournaments that have great competition with a high number of teams we are playing this coming weekend in Fullerton CA in an over 40 tournament that will probably have a dozen teams. It is being done just takes some networking and an active director willing to work with you.

Anything to get more teams in a tournament. They didn't make enough teams Major Plus in the west so I am sure we will see very small participation unless classifications are combined.

Gary in your area for 40's I remember the Oswego Drywall team out Oregon, Tacoma Dodge, All Star Ford and I've been told a new team is forming. You guys Northwest Legends aren't that far removed from that age group I have to believe you still know alot of those players. We down south are staying close to what these teams are doing and are asking to be included in their tournament plans. You guys may have to do a little leg work and shaking the trees but it may be worth it. Good luck sounds like we won't see you until Reno.
