The entry deadline for the 2009 SSUSA Spring World Championships in Mesquite recently passed. Entries far exceeded our expectations, with a record number (over 100 teams) this year. To avoid turning away teams, we have added the Canyon's Complex in St. George, UT to the Playing Facilities list. This 7-field complex has been awarded the "Complex of the Year" by the NSA for the last 8 years and is likely familiar to anyone who has played in St. George. Mesquite will have an additional 12 or more tournament quality fields available for the 2010 Spring World's, so we trust this year's St. George addition will be an acceptable alternative until the new Mesquite fields come on-line. Thank you for your overwhelming support of the 2009 SSUSA Spring World's and good luck to all of the teams!

The preliminary Participating Teams List will be published later today (Thursday) and DRAFT Game Schedules will be forthcoming in the next few days. They will be available on the Spring World's Tournament Page

SESSION #1 Schedule Revision - Due to the late withdrawal of the Core 65 Sidewinders (AZ) after the schedules were generated and posted, there have been revisions affecting:

65-GOLD Division - Changed Round Robin and Bracket to reduce to 5 teams - Team #2 (only) plays later than originally posted
70/75-PLATINUM Division - Changed Round Robin schedule for Friday - No teams play earlier than originally posted, but all teams except #5 and #6 play later than originally posted
65-AA Division - Bracket changed for Sunday due to changes in 65-Gold bracket

Despite this being outside of our control, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Schedule links will become "active" one by one as each age group division is completed ... You'll know when you see (on most browsers) the age is underlined ... The Master Grid download can provide information about your age and division in the meantime ... DAVE

SESSION # 1 Revision - There have been changes to accommodate the unfortunate passing of the Fairway Ford 75's manager, requiring them to withdraw from the event. Changes impact the 65/70-Platinum Division for the Tuesday and Wednesday Round Robin games. The 70-Major Division is now a Best 2 of 3 between the Mesa (AZ) Cardinals and the Thousand Oaks (CA) 70's instead of a three-team Double Elimination format.

SESSION #2 Revisions - There have been nominal changes as follows:
• Mens's 40-Masters (Saturday) - Round Robin game sequencing has been modified
• Men's 55-AAA - The Saturday Bracket games had incorrect field number assignments. Those have been corrected.

Good luck to all!

Session #1 - Revisions (hopefully final!) ... The Men's 65-Gold Division had changes required due to the withdrawal of the Scrap Iron Red (CO) team this morning ... Changes affected the round robin and bracket for that divsion, and a nominal change (to earlier) in the first round Wednesday afternoon bracket games for the 65/70-Major+ Division

Good luck to all! .. DAVE

All of the Spring World's schedules take this time zone difference into account. The times listed are like airline flight schedules: All times are stated in LOCAL time at the venue. The Friday games in St. George begin at 10:00 AM MDT and in Mesquite at 9:00 AM PDT ... They start at the same "moment" but not at the same "time" on the clock ... Those with cell phones should notice your phone's time display changing as soon as you enter Arizona on the way to Utah ... Good luck to all!

MEN'S 40's REVISED - The previous revision to the Men's 40's Division in St. George (dated March 20, 2009) was overlooked and not published to the web site until this morning ... The previous version, dated 03/18/2009 is to be disregarded ... This omission is solely on me, for which I apologize ... The true schedule is dated 03/20/2009 ... DAVE
