Those three Major+ teams, OLR Nighthawks (55's) and LAF (50's) and Fangrabbers (50's) are playing 'exhibition' in their respective age groups on Friday before commencing their own 3-team 50/55 Major+ Division seeding games and bracket on Saturday and Sunday.

Yes, we (OLR Nighthawks) are playing 55 Major teams on Friday and then playing 50 Major Plus teams on Saturday and Sunday. We get a little confused ourselves, we're a 55 team that just got bumped to Major Plus. In five tournaments so far this year we've played twice as many 50 major and major plus teams as 55's. We asked to play in our age group even if we had to give runs. What team are you on?

Don,

What you are running into is the same problem we had last year. I talked to ssusa and they said they were going to re-rate the teams so we would not have this problem. Obviously their in depth rating system didnt work well in 55 Major+ div. We have cut our schedule back to go to the tourneys with the most teams. Both our team and ssusa come out losers we dont get to play softball as much as we would like and ssusa will only get our money for 2 tourneys instead of 5 or 6.

Yup, and that's a shame. We know how good your team is and we'd like to be playing you to gauge our progress. Think about the LVSSA events this year, one coming up April 18&19. We will be there also. There are six other 55M+ teams in the West that could be at this event, not sure about all of them, but at least two are fighting their rating so probably laying low. That's the curse of the M+ rating. Last year we got bumped to 50 M+ and went to the Western Region as the only team in that division. Our reward was that we got to play 40's teams and the one 55M+ team. We could have been mixed with 9 50 Major teams. Combine 55M and 55M+ at the Mesquite event this weekend and you have a 7-team bracket. With the run and homerun limits, this would be competitive. Someday, someday!!
Anyway, good luck this year we hope to see you down the road somewhere.

We would love to go everywhere and play but we dont have the money and a lot of our guys are still working. We have chosen our schedule if any 55 Major+ is interested. 5-2 Indy, SPA in Ga., ISA in TN., LVSSA in Vegas and Phoenix. This is about half of what we normally would play. Combining the two divisions is the only way to get the consistant number of teams at these tourneys.
Don good luck to you guys and hope to see you somewhere this year. Butch

Butch, after combining, there are 2 60 Major+ teams in Mesquite! Not sure combining has worked, "a consistant number of teams at these tourneys," 2? Looks like alot of the "moved up" teams are showing how they feel, they aren't going!
