| July 16 db14 104 posts | Hello Sisavic. I personally have broken 5 Worth Launch 510's. All within a three month period all with temperatures above 60 degrees and all using decent balls. Not to bore you but there is some interesting history with this bat. They are of course made by Miken. The gold bat is their 2008 model. It is a tiny bit more reliable than the maroon 2009 model. In 2009 the Launch 510 manufacturing changed to China thus the MADE IN CHINA label you see on the bat. They are having numerous issues with the bat. My opinion is that this bat is garbage. The gold bat for my two cents has as much if not the same pop as the Ultra II. (BOTH MADE BY MIKEN). Keep in mind though that they are virtually the same bat and are both extremely fragile as are all Ultra II's. There is a bit more to the story however i hope this will help you some. |
| July 17 #6 Men's 60 1173 posts | I had the dealer of these bats tell me they are the exact same bat, the only thing different"as he put it" is the red ones prettier . I have a 510 gold and I love.It is my second one, first one cracked after " a bunch " of swings.I like it and use it in every tournament we play, even had some players get one.Haven't swung the red one, but if this gold one breaks and I can't find another one, I will try the red one.s |
| July 17 Sisavic 190 posts | I hit with a red Worth 510 yesterday and it definitely had less pop than the gold version. Maybe it's just the batch from China? I'm a singles hitter and use a 27 oz. bat. I agree that the Worth hits about the same as the Ultra II. I could only find a 26 oz gold Worth and bought it for $139. I'm hopeful, but worried. |
| Aug. 5 Al33 Men's 55 183 posts | Gentlemen: Beware. The 2009 red/maroon model is junk. I broke a brand new one after two swings. They replaced it. I broke the replacement after about 40-50 swings only in games. Good balls and warm temperatures. They won't replace this one. I saw a guy break two new ones in the same game down in Dalton. My team mates have broken three others. Unbelievable. Made in China tells the story. You get what you pay for, only they ain't charging any less. I have the old gold Launch and it's got several hundred swings on it. Great bat. I for one am no longer going to buy anything from Worth. If they can't stand behind their product, I'm not going give them my hard earned money. I'm a power hitter and expect to break bats. I break a couple every year, but you gotta get more swings than what these new Launch's are getting. I'm sticking with the U2 and the Combat. No longer any comparison. Worth has seen to that. |
| Aug. 6 seniorsbfart 44 posts | In fairness to Worth it is not true that all senior bats crack. A team member had a new yellow senior Combat that cracked in less than 30 hits, another a U2 that did not last but 50, another gray senior Combat that lost the end cap in only two weeks. On the other hand my friend has a 510 that is almost a year old, another yellow Combat that is very old and doing well. We have a few of the new Boombah senior bats that are holding up and one that has cracked. The point is these bats seem to be all over the board and depending on player, balls, weather and who knows. I am only guessing but it seems to be the price we pay for senior bats overall. I think all the bat companies are doing a good job with what they have do to please our lust for the long ball. |
| Aug. 6 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | I would say that the Launch has a reputation of being fragile. As for others, I bought a first batch (without black around the endcap) MM a year ago and it is still holding up. I also have another MM with around 300 swings on it and it is doing great. My first U2 lasted 26 swings. Miken opted not to give me another. I've had a U2 that have lasted a year, most, no where near that. |
