| July 20, 2009 jah#4 Men's 55 539 posts | SPA HOME RUN DERBY some of the elite player of senior softball put on a show at the SPA National tourney hitting in the derby. Jack Aronson of Gekle builder hit til his hands bleed and some more of the 50 young guns hit some in the 375- 400 range. In the 55's one of my old buddy for sportplex Tony Vodola Hit 7 out of 7 for that title Gary Denton came in second. But the Show of the event was another of my buds EINSTEIN Joe came in second because of a hittoff and he had already pitched to over half of the hitter and cheered everone else on every Homerun hit. | July 22, 2009 einstein Men's 50 3142 posts | Hey Don, If more guys knew how much fun that really was with the proceeds going to charity there'd be a line of guys waiting to participate. You could also have a pitching contest a la throwing balls into a garbage can from 50', 55', 60' and second base that would be attractive and simple to execute, too. |

| July 22, 2009 BruceinGa Men's 60 2438 posts | Joe and Ken, about 4 or 5 years ago SPA held pitching, base hitting, double play and throwing accuracy contests in conjunction with thier national tournament. The proceeds went to to charity. |
