Classic Rock Qualifier

Hi All:

Our team played in the Classic Rock tourney this weekend in Lacy Washington at the new complex. The two things that really stood out to me where #1 the way Shane ran this event was outstanding and #2 this new complex is state of the art as far as the northwest goes. There was never any questioning of when you played and the games were as close to on time as can be. The umps were good for the most part and when in doubt they would ask either Shane or a senior ump. Right or wrong I thought that showed an open mind.
This new complx can host a major senior even in my book. Plenty of parking and the area has good restaurants, the only thing I don't know about is lodging.

Great job Shane and thanks for putting this event together.

Our team-Cascade Thunder-was very impressed by the fields. Artifical turf infields, but as a pitcher I thought they were slow enough to get your glove down.

We had a blast playing some of the older major and major plus teams.

We thought the tourney was run well-only quirk for us was Saturday...as the seeding and brackets played out, we played 5 straight games without a break that afternoon. The balls used were fine-but since we are not a HR-hitting team, it actually helped us in several games.

We plan to return to Lacey...if they will have us!

plenty of hotels three exits down--no power in any of them for three hours Saturday night.
