BY FAR THE BEST 50 MAJOR TEAMS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY
The 50 major tournament has to be by far the best tournament i have even been two. There was not one bad team, every team team had the capability to score 30 or more runs a game. There were 11 teams from all over the country chicago, portland, tuscon, ohio san diego just to name a few. I have never see so many good players at this tournament the world masters in las vegas. Great ball and just great players and team was capable of winning the tournament. Windy city of chicago beat team demolition from sandiego ca. in the championship. great tourney.

What was the final? Demolition put us out the game before and I didn't think they'd quit hitting!

Does this mean that Windy City will go back up to Major Plus for a couple tourneys for next year and plead to get moved back down again.Happened this year after winnings 7 major tourneys in 07 and two more this year after getting moved back down. How'd they do that lots of major teams that got moved up want to know.Personally we are ok with were we are,but it seems a little out of the norm.Good team not sure why SSUSA let them do this?

Dosen't seem right maybe that should have been explained to each team. When your going to a 50 major tourney you would think that's who ur going to play, Then i would consider team demolation the winner of the tournament, but you can't take anything away from Windy City 50 major or 50 major plus they are an outstanding team. Temo demo with injuries and fatique just ran out of gas after 19 games. But congradulations to windy city and good lusck to a great team.

There were a few 55 Major teams playing AAA 2 weeks ago, could it just be LVSSA rating system?

Maybe senior softball can explain, seems like too many rule changes that are unknow til u get to the tournament. Its a shame because this was a fantastic tournament. Ill put my money on Windy City in the world championships.

The three teams that played AAA in Vegas ( Over The Edge, BRL, and Ancell) are all rated Major in SSUSA

I don't care if Windy City is Major or Major+, they are really a good hitting and defensive team. The pitcher did a grsat job in keeping everything short and went a long way in reducing our HRs. IMO They really do not have the HR power to play M+. We had our chances, but just did not have anything left in the tank.

I played last week with NCI55 and this week with Demolition, thanks LVSSA for a great couple of weekends. This format works and should be the standard.

No Hrs for outs, no PPR, better for everyone.

barrym that would be a good bet, they won it in 07.This is not a knock against Windy City they are playing with in the rules they followed the process,I would look into the PROCESS.

Barrym wendy city hit the least homeruns in the tournment, two games we were up by two runs in the open inning, and those team hit into game ending double play. In 08 and most of 09 we played major plus and won 2 games out of pool play, one team hit 30 home rus against us. every game this weekend was close except last game, because demolition ran out of gas.

Rocko, homeruns don't always win tournaments defense comes into play and we played u the first game and your team didnot lack the ability to hit it out any time plus your defense was to me a major plus showing. Especially your third baseman that we didn't even pitch to after unloading a bomb and not to mention his gold glove. Good luck though your a good team and your right we ran out of gas and the wind killed everybody.

Barrym,
So tell me just how many big events or major events HAVE YOU been to?
I'd guess not many. But it was a nice showing numbers wise for M & M+.
Have you looked at the PHX numbers?
Stay healthy.

barrym, last year we got beat 60 to 20 and they hit 39 homeruns in 3 innings. our defense didn't make a diffrence. But when your a small team like us and they make you play major plus,we don't stand a chance because homeruns win in major plus. Any of the teams in vegas major could have won that tournment.

As far as senior softball this proably was the biggest. But as far as major events ive been to every state, and world tournament from 1978-1989 starting from open division to a, b tournaments including tournaments such as the smokey mountain classic, myrtle beach, airzona, texas ect. usssa. I try not to look at the numbers rather the talent back in the 80's it was about talent not numbers just to say you played there.

barrym,
Talent\skills, what ever ya call it, one can't win w\o it.

"80 are not like it is today..., unfortunately. But then neither was the equip., but it worked well with the balls we had.
Concord, still have the open fields? It's been 10-12 years since I was there...

I totally agree with you, you nextgood offense and excellent defense ask windy city theyll tell you that. Today compared to the facilities such as reno, woodland ect concord has now unforturenetly is the worst feilds to play on they only have one fenced feild. Not really made for senior softball. They used to use portable fences but was too dangerous. They just need more land to develop the facilities they need. After not playing for 19 years i would have to say concord has been the worst. Keep up the good work and it nice chatting with u.

One last thing Danny Brown and John Mckinley and debbie oxley bruce stanley all who have been with this game a long time will bring concord softball back to where everyone wants to go. These are top notch people with alot of experience and not to mention sponsors cambell's carpets and Bill Bundy from american realty who both spent ton's of money to fufill players dreams with there sponsorships. Hopefully more sponsors will come along, And tom should be the umpire and chief for senior softball if i had a vote. Take care.

The new "poker face" for senior softball, but when they bring a cane up to the plate and swing it, call the bluff.
Or something like that...

I had a great time playing with my teammates on Demolition at the LVSS..... well ran tourney, good rules and great ball for hitting... however there some clinches.... in the seeding. We hit extremely well thanks to Adair(great hitter), Brad, Steve, Gino, Max, Gil, Mac, Joe, RayRay, Rick, Barry, Short, and my Boy:Marty... Very impressed with the quality of our team to hit a ton and do really well also get to play good teams like the Merchants, Declair, Tucson Bandits, and Wind City... as for Windy City playing in Major's is a NON-ISSUE.... I rather play teams like them all the time at any tourney... all of teams we just played are the ones that makes you a better player....:) all the teams hit very well and they did it without a lot of Hr's... LOL!!! teams with the most hits will win...... we lost to them in the 1st game by 1 run... :) and then losing to them in the Ship' game and we played just as hard as should... overall a good effort to all who played and especially our team... in this tourney....

Enjoy life always...

Team Demo..You guys did a awesome job this weekend, unfortunately you ran out of gas after playing 10 games on Sat and Sun. Ray Ray...Where's the love... Competition is what softball is about, complaining about us being able to compete is illogical and unfair. Windy City has done EVERYTHING we have been asked to do by SSUSA and the powers to be. Ray...Yes in 2005,we were successful,we won and got moved up...But we competed..we weren't happy but we played in every Major Plus world tourny in 2006 and never won a single tournament game..We applied to be rerated for 2007, played Major and again we were successful.Won and got rerated to Major Plus for 2008,again we played All Major Plus Worlds in 2008 and only won 2 tournament games.Where's the competition? Ray,Yes we follow the rules, we ARE a good Major Team but truly NOT a Major Plus Team..Now with Wally,Carl,Sully,Wags we also would say" Personally we are ok with were we are" but we would destroy our team in order to play..Life is Good..Don't Hate..See ya'll soon in Phoenix

Vennie you know I'm not a Windy City hater to the contrary,I 'm a lover.I was using you guys as and example as to the inadequcies of the system and really tryig to point out some of the inconsistencies in the rating system.you guys going up and down every other year is not a solution.
Vinnie hell I like you guys so much I'm trying to get us moved down to M so we can play each other again.LOL
Vinnie read my post again I believe it says that the prob. is with the PROCESS.Not hating on ya bro I think you guys are the model of M with a good blend of Hitting, speed, defense and power. We basicly had to desmantle our team to compete @ M+ don't blame ya for not wanting to do that.
Peace Out Vin,
See in Phoenix
