Oct. 13 Tate22 Men's 60 280 posts | r Joe: Curious as to your thoughts on protective equipment for pitchers instead of a screen. Agree protection is the way to go instead of the Hitter Punishment Rule. Pitchers with gear on can still field the middle. Pitching behind a screen makes the game more like BP. Your such a good fielder up the middle, can't believe you'd give that up to hide. Besides, I don't think they have a screen to cover up our buddy Micky Hughes. As for head gear, the super extra large with the pony-tail hole will fit over your Crosby 'do. And that's Eye-gor, not EEE-gor. Dr. Fronken-steen! Don Newhard |

Oct. 14 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | r Hey Don, Good to talk with you again. We agree that hitters should not be punished. Good start. The screen as someone pointed out yesterday doesn't necessarily deter an avid fielder from getting to balls. I'm interested in seeing how playing one side or the other will bother batters and/or cause them to try to hit to the other side. There's always a way. Mickey reminds me of the first time I saw Ken Dryden play goalie in college. He was 6'4" and over 200 lbs and with all the padding you couldn't even see the the goal when he got into position. Mickey is a monster, for sure and the smartest/best competitor on the mound I've ever seen. Hope to see you in Phoenix. |
