Total Hip Replacement
I have been asked several times over the past year how I was doing and whether my surgery was worth it.

For the record, anyone considering a total hip replacement, should get multiple opinions and then make an informed decision.

Personally, I have never regretted having my surgery. I am 5'10" ish and 275lbs. I was playing competitively 90 days after my surgery in 12/2007. I was not a 100%, but I was doing really well. This season, I played both 50 major and 55 Major+. The first year my HR totals were a little off, but this year I hit as many as I ever have.

Bottomline - If you are thinking about surgery do your due diligence and make sure your surgeon has performed this operation on athletes, makes a difference. I do take one supplement twice a day, but I can say that except on the rare occasion I do not need any pain medication to play in or to recover from a tourney. I do think that big joints are easier to recover from than small joints, but trust me your quality of life will be enhanced.

If you ever see me on the ball field I will be glad to share my experience with you. Good Luck
