Anyone seen or heard of this rule being called? I found it in the SSUSA rule book.

6.16 WIND OR SUN AFFECTING BOTH PITCHERS
In an emergency wind or sun situation, if, in the opinion of the
umpire, the wind or sun is having a discernible affect on the accuracy
of both pitchers, the umpire may declare that only strikes
count. In the case of sun interference, the umpire may lower the
height of the pitch.

Hey Bruce -

It was used last year in the tourney in Palm Springs. The winds were kicking up at 40+ MPH and the rule was invoked. It didn't make playing conditions any better but did allow for fairness to both the pitcher and the hitter (for pitch selection) instead of a walk-a-thon.

Hey Pete and Bruce,
That's a neat rule.
Somebody's thinkin'
and Dirty's stinkin'.
All right with the world.
Hey Bruce, you monster with a bat,
how you hittin' em?
There's gonna be some shifting of players
and uniforms around here for 60's teams next year.
You'll see some of the same old faces
donning new laces.
Going to Winter Worlds?

I'll be in Florida for the Winternationals, playing with Miken/Anaconda Sports and when the schedule allows, with Kayson's Grille a 50 Major team.
I've been hitting on the weekend and during the week at home off a tee into a sock net. After watching Bogie's DVD I've been able to increase my bat speed consistantly by 4-8mph.
We only have one night of league, a double header for us. I need to have two good games to capture the batting title and hr trophy.
I've got to focus on good pitches!
Mike Walker will be joining us in Ft. Meyers. This season we really missed hit arm in the outfield!
I'm trying to convince the Kaysons Grill team into playing in Reno next year. We'll see.

Hey Bruce,
Mike Walker is an amazingly good player
and a better guy.
Tell him hi for me.
It's one of the few things
Kevin and I agree about.
You'll be glad to hear that instead of us loading up one good team from NorCal
to go after you guys
it will still be in 2 separate squads.
Don't start cheering yet
because I'll be pitching for one of 'em.
The better one of course.
Good luck this winter.
Bogie's video is the best thing
I've ever used to help me make
my comeback.
I ended the season, last 3 tournaments
42 for 48.
I'm looking forward to next year
especially LVSSA.
See you at the next one.
