May 19 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | DaveDowell I have a question about the the Spring Nationals in Altamonte Springs. I noticed that it said games are 60 minutes and then an open inning. Does this mean there is a max we can score per inning and an open inning at the end of the game, or, 60 minute time limit and when time expires, play one more inning? |
May 19 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | DaveDowell Bruce ... I'm not an official 'Rules Guy', but my understanding is this ... There is usually a 5-run rule per inning until either the 7th inning or the inning AFTER which the 60 minute time limit (started with the 1st pitch of the game) occurs ... Better stated, you play for 60 minutes, at which time the umpire should announce that 60 minutes have elapsed ... That current inning is completed and the next inning becomes the "open inning" with no 5-run limitation applied ... My understanding is not always exactly correct (remember, I'm married), so I encourage you to confirm this with the T.D. or Umpire in Chief at the tourney ... Good luck! ... DAVE |
