TOC - looking back
This was my team's first trip to the TOC and it was nice to see more of a festive and collegial atmosphere that what one experiences at other times. Although the weather did not cooperate, the SSUSA staff should be commended for staying on top of the situation and making it work. The all star game, skills competition, dinner, etc, were all nice touches to the event and much appreciated.

One idea to consider for use in future events is to shorten the days of play, especially when the draws are very small and team are flying/driving in from all parts of the country. Although our bodies are not what they used to be, one comment I heard repeated over and over again while walking around the ballpark was how the games/brackets were "drawn" out over three days. i am sure this is not the first time this has been raised, but i have been asked (on behalf of a few teams)to pass it along. Also, i think it may be one reason that some teams choose not to attend national events - we are already taking off Thursday for travel, and now people are starting to take off Monday just in case they make it to the championship.

Congratulations to the winners, although by virtue of even making it to the TOC, everyone there was already a winner. Our bracket (50/55 M+) was extremely competitive, with no one going through the seeding games unscathed, and the level of play picking up even more in the bracket games.
