Harry,
You're right! That would be a great chance to play some different teams and meet others. We're going to Gallatin, TN at the end of July. I'll mention going east to the powers that be. Mel

Harry,
It's probably too late to change our schedule this year, but I'm going to lobby for at least one trip east next season. I'll be eligible to play 65, but maybe we can bring both teams. Take care of your shoulder. Mel

Mel, The tourney with the most 60 teams was the ISSA in Salem Va. this year it had 10 60AAA.The Atlantic coast in Loudoun had 6 60AAA and 6 Major 60 teams. There is a east coast tourney in Raleigh around the first of Aug. that usually has a good turn out. Thanks Harry

Thanks Harry, They all sound worth attending. I'll see what I can do to get our team out for at least one of them. Regards, Mel

Just for reference the Buckeye Classic (Barberton,Ohio) in June had seven AAA's and seven AA's 60's, which was the maximum we could take.

Planning on increasing it to ten AAA's and ten AA's in 2011.

Mel:

How did "BIG DADDY" end up in Columbus? Larry seemed to have a nice turnout in all the divisions. I think he had at least SIX teams in the six divisions (50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 and all were AA/AAA. I think they also had about 40 women's teams.

SPA seems to be doing a pretty decent job drawing teams in the East. mid-east and mid-west this year..don't know of any that have been cancelled for lack of teams.

The ROOSTER was a pretty neat place to eat (and drink). Don't know if you guys won the tournament but you probably finished up near the top in the "beer drinking" event.

I have BIG DADDY'S added to our mailing list for 2011. Last year we ended up with 53 teams (60's, 65's. 70's and 75's) with 14 in the 60's.

We went independent last year but I think we will be going with SPA in 2011 and also add another weekend and the 55's.

Thanks for the "shout out", probably see you in the SHELBYVILLE SPA tournament in August.

Ho, Big Daddy's got beat by Doc Marten's in the championship game when they scored 9 runs with no outs in the bottom of the seventh. Wow, was it hot! (So were they!) We will see you in Shelbyville in August. Regards to you and your team......and their wives, Mel

Nobody was going to keep up with BIG DADDY at ROOSTERS. Even the resturant management was so impressed with their abilities, they moved them to a taller table where everyone could watch them and marvel at their skills.

They may not knock many pitchers out of the box, but they sure wiped out a lot on the table.
