Bordering States rule
I thought that I read some place that in 2011 the bordering states rule would be replaced by a regions rule. In other words. Excluding Cali and Florida-a player would not now be limited to play in States that border his or her own ,but would be allowed to play within the region (states) in which they reside. Is this the case, or did I misinterpret something.

Would not want that, the teams with the money would get even better with more area to choose from.

The region rule would break up most of the major plus teams and probably a few of the major teams.
We would lose 5 of our starters if this were to happen.

The way I read and understand the regional rule is that 1. CA & Fl are own regions & cannot gather troops from other states.
2. Expands areas too get players which might be maybe 2-3 states away. Talk about BP GTG's problems and additional travel cost.
Look at home page and click on map see expanse of areas.
3. Believe it would, as said, allow deep pocket teams or players to go to other teams well outside bordering states rule.
4. Some teams back north east have limited resources (states) for get players, thus the possible change.
5. Screws CA and FL teams. Unless of course they 'grandfather ' the players in... lol
6. Force many teams to either drop out, change players or not attend many tournament they currently do.
Basic concept for it is fairly good, but not well thought out or how it will impact teams overall, imo, like many other rules as we have seen.
But what else is new.

Donnie,
With all due respect. What would be wrong with that? Don't you think it might level the playing field a bit?
Don't you think you could put a World Championship caliber team together just from the state of North Carolina?

Nothing would be wrong if the associations wanted to break up the major plus teams. Where to you think these guys would go? They would pick up on major teams if there were no major plus division.
No, I don't think I can put together a championship team form one state. But, if this was the rule I would try to put one together adn go out and try to win.
If our team was from one state we would not be able to compete with the California and Florida major plus teams.

Turn 2 .I can't understand why you say that you would lose 5 of your starters if we went to Regions instead of bordering states.

Titan,
I was refering to the origal plan that SSUSA was going to use. It was regions for everyone.
My mistake.
