I've been kind of quiet waiting to see what was going to happen and finally last week was able to get an info packet from a national "advisor/director" that Chris was supposed to have sent out a while back. If the idea is to attract attention to the product, then you have to do something to contrast the product from the rest of the market. All associations claim to have the players' well-being at heart as well as "providing the best experience" possible. What sets WWSSA off from the others? Do they listen to the players and not arbitrarily ban particular bats?

No, they allow the use of the 100+ MPH bats from the various manufacturers except for Miken. I'm sorry folks, but the Synergy, Synergy +, and some other bats can be pretty darn close to as potent as the Ultra2.

Do they let the players, at least, play with a better grade of ball? No, I see that they are requiring the 44 core, 375 compression ball that ASA, ISA and the rest of the alphabet soup is using.

I also feel that if you (the association) are going to dictate prize packages, then you should make the merchandise available at a more attractive price for the TD. $4.75/unit on Knob Cuffs is retail, no break there. As a TD, why wouldn't I order the Knob Cuffs from Spring, Tx, and buy 100-200 of them and get a "much" better price?

I was very interested in this phenomenon when it started but I think that between the conception and execution something of a credibility gap occurred.

I guess I might as well go back to the "tried and true" and be prepared to be unhappy with the changes as they occur.

If you would care to attempt to convince me of my misconceptions, my email address is in my profile or you can reach me at banditball@mindspring.com.

Boss Bandit, disappointed again.

I have been working on putting together still, another assoc. Central valley Senior Softball Assoc. cvssa.
One primarily for seniors who play competitive ball. One that like NCSSA, tries NOT to disallow the use of certain bats that we players paid good hard earned money for only to be told we can't use them . Balls that are good quality polycore 375 to 525 comp and a cor of 44 - 47.
Have a site but it isn't up. I'm having a hard time making it myself. Started all over last nite.
Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
