| March 24, 2011 cw Men's 50 41 posts | Dumb question... Why is there a 3% surcharge if you pay with a Visa or Mastercard? It would seem to me that this would be more efficient than paper forms and checks in the mail. Perhaps SSUSA could set up a PAYPAL account and automate payments? Just wondering... |
| March 24, 2011 Marv19 Men's 60 350 posts | PayPal charges the same. To me its 3.5% I take all cards in my business. I just choose to eat it. Some businesses do not choose to eat the extra $$. Its not uncommon for a business to charge the consumer for processing. The County of Riverside charged me $45 on property tax CC transaction. I now go to the county office after that charge EEEERRRRR |
| March 24, 2011 taits Men's 65 3999 posts | I've seen surcharges of up to 8% for CC use. Check you local gas stations out, the CC v cash price differences is usually the surcharge difference. |
