March 30 Jawood Men's 50 943 posts | What if say for example ... a Major-plus 50 team has no one to play at a tournament because there isn't enough teams to warrant that division, and they were forced to play say for example ... a bunch of 40+ teams that are 12-15 years younger instead of just placing them in the major division where there are teams to play. Would that team get their money back if they didn't want to be cannon fodder for the 40+ teams? Just for discussion sake. |
March 30 SSUSA Staff 3505 posts | YES - Any team that is a 'singleton', meaning no one else in their age/rating level to play, that team receives a call from the SSUSA office to discuss alternatives. In the case you describe, if the team (in their sole discretion), elects not to participate in that event, they would receive a complete refund or a credit to a future event, again at the sole option of the team. |

You might as well just flip a coin and decide it. & three teams is bad enough. M+ does have a disadvantage but some of that is due to how ratings are done. too fast a move or too slow a move, EITHER WAY, up or down. No REAL consistency on the how & why and what has been written about that does not always come about that way. Over all a good job though. The real killer for everyone is the border dispute for CA and FL to get players. IMO those teams should re register as another or same team from another adjoining state. Keep your team together. While the intent may have been noble, it became a shrew. Not unlike a few other rules that were later rescinded. Having a choice is good, I just hope any other plans pre made will also escape a subsequent cost factor like lodging and travel arrangements. |
