| Nov. 14 OTE24 Men's 65 123 posts | Looked all over your website for the proper procedure to get re-rated(in the rulebook also)and couldn't find any reference for the individual player. I called your office two weeks ago and Giovanni told me to send GEORGE an email detailing my situation. Sent the email with a phone number,have yet to hear from GEORGE. My question: Is GEORGE a responsible person? Does he understand common courtesy? Please detail for me with a reference how to go about this procedure. I played in only 4 SSUSA games last year due to a knee injury that could not be fixed. Haven't decided to play next year,but would not want to burden a team with an injured player. Anyone?,Anyone? | Nov. 14 Duke Men's 65 908 posts | Al33, You are 100% correct, except for one key point. The direction you gave John was for re-rating a team, which has all of the pertinent instructions. I believe John is asking for the "unwritten rule" for re-rating a player, which is not on the site that you mentioned(I could be wrong though). I have been able to get this done in the past for a few players, but John wants to get this done for one special player(s), that I know need to be re-rated as an individual and not by association. This is because of ability and/or current injuries that have made that player not what he once was. John, you may have to follow the team appeal procedure to obtain an answer. I never had to do that, and took care of it with a phone call and followed up with an email. Right now, I would not tell them that you know me. I am not one of their favorite people at this time. | Nov. 14 Rckound Men's 55 6 posts | Two former teammates, along with myself have been trying to get rerated for over a year now. This year I played in one tournament, the other two did not play at all. Had we been able to be rerated before the season, we would have easily played in multiple tournaments throughout the year. None of us are "impact" players by any stretch of the imagination, but because we are associated with a higher level team, we have been stuck with the higher rating. We were part time role players who didn't have a home run between the three of us, and were not among the team hitting leaders. Yet, because we filled in on a team short of players for a tournament we're an "Impact player?" That has no chance of being rerated unless we just don't play for two years? Seems kind of tough to have to just sit out for two whole years in order to play at a level where we can actually play. And yes I understand the definition of an "impact player" as far as getting moved down a level, but we're not even being afforded the opportunity. And even by being moved down a level, believe me, nobody is going to label us as an "impact player". We have all attempted to contact someone about getting rerated with no luck. We have even had our former manager try on our behalf just because he knew we wanted to play somewhere and we were't going to be able to play at the level we are labeled with. We've had managers that offered to let us play on their team at a lower level try on our behalf with no luck. While I know whomever determines player levels can't possibly know every player out there, sure wish there was some kind of easier way to determine a player's rating. Tried to call George. Was told he was too busy to talk to me and I should send him an email. Sent the email. No reply as of yet. I would imagine George is a pretty busy guy even this time of year with Winter World's and all. And from everything I have heard about him, he's a pretty good guy, so I'm still hoping to hear from him. That being said, after countless emails and phone calls already put in over the past year plus, I'm not holding my breath about getting rerated. Guess I'll just have to sit out for a couple of years and wait. |

You know 2 of our former Major Plus players played with a AAA team all year. Does that make them AAA players now, especially, since their team probably met the "2.5 run rule??" Ruth to keep them in a lower division, because Mr. Ruth did not like the new "impact player" rule, so he invented this to keep his team's lower status. Only the important stuff. All I'm asking is how to be re-rated as an individual with a rule reference? If they don't do this and you have to be affiliated with a team just state that's the case. Like I said, I don't want to burden a team with an injured player. I guess I'll send an email everyday until I get an answer. Staff? Terry? George? Anyone? John |

| Nov. 15 titanhd Men's 60 640 posts | Corky I beleive that you can drop one class. So M+ could play M. within the same age group. Duke I don't beleive a M+ player could play AAA in any circumstance in back to back seasons no matter the age group without special permission. |
| Nov. 15 Duke Men's 65 908 posts | titanhd- You are correct, but teams have received permission from Big George in Sacramento and allowed to play 2 divisions down for the entire season. What makes it OK for one team and not for another?? I do not have an answer to that question. Maybe we can ask Terry or Mr. Ruth, as they know how to get around the rules and work the system. Corky- you are not correct. It does not matter what you batted or what position you played, you could get not labeled as a Major Plus player. I have done this several times for players that fill in for my teams. In fact, the last time was for my Major team, and I got him on a AA team, where he belongs. BUT, you would need a release from that team and approval from Big George, who will generally call the manager to discuss. He has not paid his phone bill this month, so no calls are being taken or made. BTW, George is a nice guy, and has to do whatever Terry and Mr. Ruth give him for a guideline. John- You do deserve a callback or email or something. Honestly, there is no written rule for re-rating a player. It is by association, otherwise, there would be total kaos in senior softball. Also, I think J.C. is going to play on my team this season, but he has not made a definite decision. It depends on how his rehab progresses. With all of these guys getting rehab and the bordering State issue, I could be playing in Vegas this weekend with my own team. That is OK, I have other plans for this weekend now.
