I would like to make a suggestion on player awards besides bags hats ect. I think in my own opinion since ssusa now has a store, that each player be given a 50.00 gift certi. To purchase merchandise and can keep them to add up to buy bats ect. I'm sure ssusa gets a good deal on senior softball product. These can be in the form of ssusa paper dollars. This way you can purchase off the truck items you want. There can be a catalog made for how many sausage dollars you would need to purchase what you want and every one will be happy. This will make the sausage distrutors happy also. Remember blue chip stamps ect. Just putting it out there.

Actually, sausage dollars sound very tasty to me. They could be redeemed in the morning for breakfast.

As to the idea of vouchers or "monopoly money", I think it is a great idea. In our association, the practice of giving T-shirts at the close of the tournament to the winning team is almost gone. Too many teams were stuck with xxx or small, so now TDs order the appropriate sizes for winning teams, which also allows them to personalize the shirts with the team name or logo, but at a minimum everyone receives the appropriate size T-shirts.

In a tournament as big as Vegas, the challenge will be where to have the merchandise available. On a truck that goes field to field? In a hotel? At the headquarters hotel? Distributed to more than one location? Works easier at tournaments like CalCup and similar local SSUSA tourneys where there is an accessible and easily found tournament headquarters.
