Mike Hula began working for SSUSA in 2014 as a tournament director.
Originally from the Michigan/Ohio area, Hula moved to Las Vegas in 2008 and began playing senior softball in 2012 with the LVSSA Raiders (60 AAA). He has also played with the Las Vegas Stars (65 Major), and Elite/SCS (60 Major) for one season.
As a director, Hula has worked a number of SSUSA tournaments, including the recent Winter Classic in Bullhead City, AZ and the LVSSA/SSUSA President’s Day Classic earlier this year, as well as the Brickyard Invitational in Indianapolis, the Midwest Championships in Rogers, AR, and the Northern Championships in Lansing, MI.
"Mike Hula is great to work with," said Fran Dowell, SSUSA Executive Director. "He is a true problem solver."
As a key liaison between SSUSA and LVSSA, Hula has played a vital role in helping to build one of the largest SSUSA qualifiers, the LVSSA/SSUSA Southwest Championships (214 teams in 2017), as well the largest tournament in the sport, the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships (612 teams in 2017).
