Teams Do Not Have to Qualify for Easterns and Westerns
April 1, 2020
SACRAMENTO – Senior Softball-USA (SSUSA) announced today that it is waiving the requirement for teams to play in a qualifying tournament in order to compete in the Western National Championships in Sacramento and the Eastern National Championships in Loudoun County, Virginia this Summer.
Teams will still be required to play in a qualifying tournament to compete in the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships in the Fall.
SSUSA officials said the decision was made because the COVID-19 Pandemic had forced the cancellation of tournaments in March, April and part of May, which does not give teams enough opportunity to compete in a Qualifier before the Eastern or Western Nationals.
Teams intending to compete in the Eastern or Western Nationals will need to submit their rosters by the tournament deadline (July 7) and their skill rating will depend on the roster.
