Nov. 1, 2023

Softball News Report

The 2024 Senior Softball USA Tournament Schedule is now online – just in time for teams to plan for the new season!

There is a new TOC tournament in the Land of Enchantment in Albuquerque, a second year at the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu, a new Northern Championships location in the Twin Cities, a new Midwest location in Kansas City – and an earlier time for the Southern Championships in Dalton.

And, of course, the old favorites in Las Vegas, Reno, St. George, Loudoun County, Virginia Beach, Fort Myers, Polk County, Aurora, SoCal and NorCal, Oregon, Texas, New York, and scores of national qualifiers throughout the United States and Canada.

Plan to attend the largest softball tournament in America – the Senior Softball World Championships in Las Vegas – and the most prestigious: the Tournament of Champions in Polk County, Florida!

Here are some of the highlights:

Southern Championships moves to early March

The 2024 Southern Championships is moving to March 1-3, 2024, while remaining in Dalton, Ga., at Riverbend Park.

Riverbend Park opened in early 2022 and hosted the 2022 and 2023 Southern Championships as well.

The Aloha Bowl is back!

2024 brings players the second annual Aloha Bowl, the sole TOC qualifier on the Hawaiian Islands.

This year’s tournament is planned for five days, with several mainland teams joining the Island teams in the fun playing ball in Honolulu.

The 2024 Aloha Bowl will be March 5-10, 2024.

Midwest Championships heads to the Sunflower State

This year’s 2024 Midwest Championships returns rejuvenated, with a new location and earlier dates. Join us in Kansas City, Kan., April 16-21, 2024, to play at their all-new eight-field complex, Homefield.

Homefield is a multi-use sports complex that opened a few months ago.

Northern Championships moves to the Twin Cities

New cities and new dates make for a new and bigger 2024 Northern Championships. The Twin Cities Gateway will host the Northerns April 30 – May 5, 2024, in Coon Rapids and Fridley, Minnesota, on the outskirts of Minneapolis and St. Paul. As the two largest cities in the state and region, Minneapolis and St. Paul are often referenced together, leading to their nickname as the Twin Cities.

Join us in the communities of Coon Rapids and Fridley for the 2024 Northern Championships.

Land of Enchantment Qualifier - New Mexico: the newest TOC qualifier

Alburquerque, N.M., is home to Senior Softball USA’s newest TOC qualifier: the Land of Enchantment Qualifier. Named after the state’s official motto, this city known for artistry and hot air balloons is sure to not disappoint.

Visit the Land of Enchantment this June 5-9 and take part in this inaugural TOC.

Spud Showcase returns to Idaho

Last hosted in 2019, the Spud Showcase is returning this season to be hosted in Boise, Idaho, again. Playing off Idaho’s most well-known crop, the state supplies one-third of U.S. potato production.

Boise, the largest city and capital of Idaho, will host the Spud Showcase June 15-16.

Some of the Senior Softball’s favorite TOC tournaments return for 2024:

The Spring Nationals returns to Polk County, the Spring Worlds to St. George and Bullhead City, the Tidewater Classic to Virginia Beach, The Southwest Championships to Las Vegas, Texas Championships to Grapevine, Atlantic Coast Championships to Raleigh, Rock ‘n’ Reno (the oldest senior qualifier), NorCal to the Sacramento area, SoCal to Hemet and Cathedral City, Northeast Championships to Syracuse, Northwest to Salem, the Eastern Nationals to Northern Virginia, the Westerns to Sacramento and the Rocky Mountain Championships to Aurora.

And the first tournaments of the 2025 season return home, as well: the Winter Nationals in Ft. Myers and the Winter Worlds in Phoenix.

Look for a detailed report on all of the 2024 tournaments in the Winter Edition of Senior Softball News in December.
