Discovering a Real Treasure
Dec. 1, 2012 – Terry Hennessy CEO
The orbit of life revolves ever faster with each year we live.Like our memories, our own histories grow richer with each event we experience, each person we meet and each game we play.
Most of us treasure the successes, the wins and the friends we make.
Many of us, by the time we are playing senior softball, have felt the sharp pain of tragedy.
If we are lucky, we learn from each failure, each error and each loss.
Age does not bestow wisdom, rather wisdom comes from the realization that each of these experiences – the happy moments and those we would rather forget – are all fibers that create the fabric of life.
That perspective helps us give meaning to all that we experience.
To fully realize the joys of life can be a simple thing indeed.
Sometimes it helps to turn off the cell phones, unplug the computers and grab a glove and enjoy a game with friends we have come to know.
It is then that life again slows to pace where we can take an hour, or so, to really enjoy the camaraderie that creates the memories that keep us smiling in the offseason.
And that is a real treasure.
