Congrats to Doubleplay on winning the 50AAA. We enjoyed playing you and all the teams las weekend. Glad our weather made the tourney so enjoyable. We don't travel so it was a great experience for us. To borrow a line, where else could a team from Fla. play teams from Indiana, Arizona, and California. And it's always a pleasure playing the fellas from Frederick's(we have played them in Ft. Myers in the past). Hope y'all had a good time here and we look forward to seeing you again.

GUYS, I THOUGHT TITANIUM WAS OUTLAWED EVERYWHERE YEARS AGO. NOW MIKEN DOES A MIX WITH COMPOSITE AND IT'S LEGAL IN ALMOST EVERY ASSOCIATION? HOW DOES THAT WORK? IS THIS BAT AS HOT AS THE U2? WARRANTY OR NOT, FOR $450 IT SHOULD ALMOST WALK TO THE PLATE AND HIT FOR YOU. BRUCEINGA, DAVE NORTH IN ST. PETE, FLA. SAYS HELLO.

WALK I USE A 28OZ U2 AND ON A GOOD DAY I CAN CLEAR THE FENCE BY 10 TO 15 FT. WOULD I STILL GET THE SAME RESULTS GOING TO A 29 OR 30 OZ MANIAC? I UNDERSTAND BBS BUT IT'S THE DISTANCE I WANT TO MAINTAIN.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, WALK. I READ A REVIEW WHERE ONE GUY SAYS THE 585 IS AS GOOD AS THE ULTRA AND THE U2. DO YOU AGREE? I KNOW RESULTS DEPEND ON THE TYPE AND SIZE OF THE HITTER

I PICKED UP A SYNERGY + AND AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH IT AFTER 200+ SWINGS. WE USE A 44/375 BALL AND IT SOUNDS LIKE A WOODEN BAT ON CONTACT, NOT TO MENTION THE DISTANCE IS GREATLY DIMINISHED(COMPARED TO MY U2). MY TEAM TOLD ME TO STOP USING MY WOODEN BAT. I UNDERSTAND THE U2 AND ITS ABILITY BUT I THOUGHT THE + MIGHT COME CLOSE. HAS ANYONE HIT WITH THE MEGA MANIAC 585 YET? IS IT AS HOT AS THE U1 AND U2 ?

Discussion: Ultra II Beyond 2005

Last year in Fla Half Century a poll was taken and players voted to keep the U2 for 2005. Recently a player was seriously injured and, along with the numerous homeruns hit, the U2 ban contorversy has started again. While none of us likes to see fellow players injured, we all know the risks when we take the field. And if homeruns are taken away by any means, we will lower our sights and I believe more injuries will occur. In FHC we use a 44/375 ball and that seems to be acceptable for most players. Softball is a hitters game......keep the U2 and let us hit.

Guys, thanks for your input and if anyone else has anymore ideas I'm open. We are using 44/375 balls and if I can hit 310-315ft shots with the bats you guys suggested as opposed to the 320-330ft shots with U2 I'll be more than satisfied. Thanks again.

Thanks Bruce. I play in the Florida Half Century League which is currently ISA. What's your take on the Synergy+ and Catalyst?

OK Hitters. Help is needed. I'm a 6'2" 215lb 50+ linedrive hitter with occassional HR power who has broken his last U2. I'm looking for other ideas and am considering the Synergy+ or the Catalyst. All suggestions appreciated

Guys, I'm coming in a liitle late but let's keep this simple the old fashioned way: forget the plate strike, bring back the 6-12 arc, and keep the HRs. With no HRs we all lower our sights and with the technology in bats that's where people get hurt. See yall in Lakeland.

Thanks again Tater. Every bit helps. I'm no expert either, I go by how a bat feels. Good luck on the field.

Is anyone out there in Half Century using the Anderson Rockettech Composite Killer? In Fla HC we can still use the U2. How does the RTCK compare?
