Discussion: For 70 and over. 11 players on the field. Like or Dislike

I agree with all the reasons given for consideration of a change back to 10 players. Leagues can make their own rules. This is tournament ball. Making it harder for 70+ year old players to get a hit with a middle infielder and making the bases 70 feet makes no sense. Playing should be easier for the older players not more restrictive. There must have been a reason for this rule but it should be reconsidered if the majority of 70+ players object to it. There is a significant drop off in teams participating at this age level and higher. Maybe this is one of the reasons.

Discussion: Protection After Knee Replacement

Many players have had or going to have a knee replacement and want to protect the rebuilt knee/shin when they return to play. While there are many products out there they seem to be bulky and restrictive. I am interested in a light weight product (one piece w/ a hinged knee piece) that can be worn under softball pants without the obvious bulge and allows for mobility in the field. I have looked at baseball, softball, umpires, BMX/motorcross, lacrosse and other sports. Most of those are for over the pants or for shorts and are bulky. Any suggestions would assist a lot of players protect their knees and get back in the game.

I totally agree. Donnie and the SCSST staff put on a good tournament. All the teams looked pretty competitive. They even provided restaurant info on a great B-B-Q location. Our team had an enjoyable day with 3 games and then home.
