By his profile it looks like south Jersey.

Discussion: Is it an illegal pitch or a "no pitch" call?

Once the pitcher starts his or her motion, the ball must be delivered in one motion. Whether a step is taken, or the ball is actually released does not matter. Taking two steps forward in delivery or "walking the box" is not allowed either. Illigal pitch and a ball.

Discussion: Cleats

I have to second the Solomon's. After a teammate recommended them to me late last year. I won't wear anything else. As a big guy that pitches, the soreness during and after tourneys is nearly gone. Even picked up a pair for everyday use. I can't speak to traction in grass but most of my teammates have switched as well.

For love of the game.

Discussion: NorCal 50 Majors

Hi guys. I'm looking for a 50 Mojor team in either northern or central California for the 2016 season. Primarily pitch but also play first base. Can hit for power and average and looking for a competitive team. I live in northern Nevada and can travel and make my own schedule. I may also have a very good outfielder from my team looking to do the same. If you would like to talk further, shoot me an email at higherdef@aol.com

Good luck to everyone in 2016
For love of the game
John

Discussion: RENO WEATHER

Omar is correct. When I first moved to Reno 19 years ago I was told "if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes" it changes that quickly. I never put too much stock in long or even short range reports anymore because they are rarely ever accurate. For instance we were supposed to have rain all day today and I woke to blue skies. The turf at Golden Eagle can withstand a downpour if neccesary and games are rarely ever cancelled.

Discussion: old miken freak plus

The freak plus is still a great bat when it's broken in. I still use mine as a bp bat and the save the senior bats for gamers. A well broken-in plus will get close to the senior bats but it takes about 1000 swings. I'd keep it.

Discussion: SSUSA survey

I too took exception to the survey questions especially when it was supposedly to "help them improve the game we love" pure bs and marketing info. Didn't see any questions that would actually relate to the GAME. Very disappointing.

Discussion: Looking for a team

Just turned 50 and looking to play senior ball in Cali again. I live in Reno and pitched for a 40 major plus team a few years ago and am looking for a competitive 50 major or major plus team. Primarily pitch but also 1b. Please feel free to call 775-291-1566.

For love of the game.
