Discussion: Bat Warranties

Mike Kelly called me and we discussed the bat support problem mentioned in this thread.

First: Mike is now offering a bat repair service, which is good news for all of us who do not really feel comfortable doing this work ourselves.

Second: He has implemented a limited warranty of 6 months on end caps, rattles, end knobs and telescoping because he felt it was the right thing to do. This would only apply on combat senior bats and only on the ones he sold directly to his customers with a starting date of 8.19.14, He canít do it with the other senior bats because at this point in time none of them want to send him matching end caps and end knobs like combat has done.
He is also offering a 6 month limited guarantee on his work - no one else is doing that.

Please feel free to contact Mike directly with questions:

This is a great start to solving some of the problems mentioned in this thread.

STLO
It seems to be happening more often. Good advice and I think we are all guilty of that to some degree. I'm concerned about the safety of other players standing around when the bat comes flying away from the bat and could really hurt someone if they are standing behind you.

Ed,

Thanks and much appreciated. It still shouldn't release the bat companies from their obligations.

Nancy,

Dennis was a great person who treated everyone the same. He helped Indy softball tremendously and he will be missed. Unfortunately had seen him in years but very positive memories of Dennis.

Can't condone cheating but when the balls are as bad as they are in Sacramento teams will do things like this.

I have noticed that bat companies are now saying if your knob comes off that is not cover. If the bat does anything in addition to a crack the bat will not be covered as well. What about defective bats? Shouldn't the bat companies be responsible for fixing these bats?

Discussion: Hitting

Listen to Bruce and Mr. Manassas two exceptional hitters- take lots of batting practice with purpose. Don't just swing away but have a goal or weakness that your working on. Paco I agree you have improved tremendously and you make a great point about pitch selection.

Discussion: combat dirty g3

I swung the Dirty as my main bat last year and hit well with it with good endurance. I was able to swing the new Dirty and thought it was a much improved version of the older Dirty. I also agree about Kelly Sports. Mike has always been more than fair to deal with. Looking forward to the new Dirty two piece bat.

Great seeing you in Tucson and really enjoyed playing your team. Good solid team that should do well in future tourneys. Hopefully see you soon - enjoy retirement.
