Discussion: Balls

My senior league plays with 375/44 balls. I believe we use the Diamond brand. Most players think the ball has no carry. Although I assume that\'s the purpose of 375/44 balls, I\'m wondering if there is a ball with the same compression and core that does have some or more carry and durability than the one we currently use. Any help? mmaf in central oregon

Thanks for the SPA link. So the Easton cone, properly installed and taped over is copacetic, but a taped knob is not. But why? A taped grip provides comfort, but does it provide a clear advantage to the batter? It's not like doctoring a bat by increasing the end (swing) weight. If fact, it probably balances a bat more. I don't see how it would create a advantage nor cause a safety problem. So why the restrictions?

What is the current SS and/or ASA ruling on bat tape to create a taper, or the Easton taper sleeve, or knob cuff type products? Any info or opinions out there?
