March 29 maf 4 posts | What is the current SS and/or ASA ruling on bat tape to create a taper, or the Easton taper sleeve, or knob cuff type products? Any info or opinions out there? |

You can have 2 layers of bat tape only. Is it ever enforced that is another question. I have had to take my knob cuffs in only one tournament so far. |

March 30 maf 4 posts | Thanks for the SPA link. So the Easton cone, properly installed and taped over is copacetic, but a taped knob is not. But why? A taped grip provides comfort, but does it provide a clear advantage to the batter? It's not like doctoring a bat by increasing the end (swing) weight. If fact, it probably balances a bat more. I don't see how it would create a advantage nor cause a safety problem. So why the restrictions? |
