| April 17, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Disappointed Tim, I take it that you were a "pay to play" team. A group of 60 to 65 year old men and you're owed monies from last year, now that blows and more importantly speak volumes. I hope that you not only get reimbursed the monies you're owed, but with any luck, get the uniforms back. If not, a lesson learned and you're better off. I've learned over my almost 8 years of senior ball that being older doesn't necessarily make one more honorable or trustworthy. Just my two cents worth. Tony Baltazar So Cal 55 - Major |
| April 1, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rudy Flores Memorial Fund To anyone performing an Electronic Funds Transfer or Wire Transfer, please be informed that the account that has been set-up belongs to Anthony Baltazar (So Cal 55's) but the KFCU Acct# 11700034181657 is a sub-account tied to Rudy Flores. I found out that someone had a problem as they perceived the Account Name under Rudy Flores. The correct Account Name is Anthony Baltazar (see detail below) Contributions should go to: Kinecta Federal Credit Union (KFCU) Account Name - Anthony Baltazar Routing/Transit# 322278073 KFCU Acct# - 11700034181657 (this # is tied to Rudy Flores) Kind of the same thing with the walk-in contribution at a participating (other than Kinecta) Contribution to Kinecta Federal Credit Union (KFCU) Account Name - Anthony Baltazar Account Number - 3418165, Suffix 17 (tied to Rudy Flores) Thanks, Tony Baltazar |

| March 25, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rudy Flores Memorial Fund As a teammate of Rudy's on the So Cal 55 team, we are all shocked and saddened by his passing. Upon receiving the news Friday night, we met as a team and agreed that Rudy would've wanted us to play game he so dearly loved. We were able to make it to the championship game... and we tried to bring it home for you brother, but just ran out of gas. I hope we did you proud. RIP Rudy. When Rudy's family stopped at Hunter Park on their way to St. George, the So Cal 55 and Double Play teams were able to go to the family to offer our condolences and support. I was touched by the show of support that the senior softball community displayed. That said, the So Cal 55 and Double Play teams have decided to separately collect monies from their team to help defray costs that will be needed for the family in the immediate term. I've spoken to Dave Dowell about posting information on how to contribute to the family via a fund I've set-up at my credit union under the name Rudy Flores. Dave not only agreed to allow posting of this information on the Discussion Board, but insisted on it. I would like to personally thank Dave for his support of this gesture to assist the family. There are two options available to contribute, one being a wire or electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your bank to the established account and two, an in-person contribution to a participating credit union through the "cuswirl" website. Details are provided below: 1) Wire or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) * Financial Institution – Kinecta Federal Credit Union (KFCU) * Routing/Transit# - 322278073 * KFCU Acct# - 11700034181657 OR 2) Walk-in contribution through a participating CUSWIRL credit union. * Logon to “cuswirl.com” * In the “Find a Branch near you” box, type in your zip code and hit Enter * On the left side under “Locate” click in the CU Service Center box and click the Go box * A listing of participating credit unions will pop up. (if you have to refresh it, hit Go again) * Go to the nearest participating branch to contribute * Collecting branch is Kinecta Federal Credit Union * Account holder - Anthony Baltazar * Account# 3418165, Suffix 17, which is for the Account Name - Rudy Flores * You will be given a receipt for your contribution * Will be able to convert funds to a Cashier’s Check and send directly to the Flores family. Thank you all, Tony Baltazar So Cal 55's |

| Jan. 25, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: simple question Timmy, Specifically Section 14.1(1) Divisions of the SSWC, Paragraph C. That should make everything clear. Tony |
| Jan. 24, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: simple question Timmy, You can add these 3 Major rated players and still keep the team's AAA rating. If you added a 4th Major rated player, the team would be required to compete at the Major level. The new 2013-2014 Rules are out, check out Section 14.1(1) to confirm what I've stated here. | Jan. 21, 2013 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: loosing toenails Fellas, My wife and some of the girls on her women's team were having a similar issue, although not as bad. My wife said that she kept jamming her second toe (next to the big toe) inside the shoe which caused not only discomfort, but also the loss of that toenail sometimes. They are all using a product called "Pro-Tec Athletic Toe Caps", a gel cap that fits over the toe. A condom for your toes boys. They're available on Amazon, $11.04 for a 4-pak. See attached link. http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-Athletics-Toe-Caps-Pack/dp/B0002RFO2A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1358813902&sr=8-5&keywords=toe+savers Tony |
| Jan. 15, 2013 gott2play | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: TOC Lonell, My bad. It looks like both Fat Nancy's/Gubiotti and Gonzalez Insulation got bumped late in 2012, with both teams most likely qualifying at the AAA level. The 55 AAA and 55 Majors will most likely be combined for the seeding games and then break off for the double elimination. Tony |
| Jan. 15, 2013 gott2play | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: What were the results in Menifee this weekend. Mike, have a couple of great pics to share from Menifee. You'll get a kick out of them. | Jan. 15, 2013 gott2play | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: TOC Participating teams list is out. Looks like four (4) 55 Major teams, Addison Park (Deerfield Beach, FL) Fat Nancy's/ Gubiotti (Syracuse, NY) Gonzalez Insulation (Victoria, TX) Kinnco Services (Martinsville, IN) |
| Jan. 8, 2013 gott2play | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: Looking to play in the TOC Dee, we are a California team and are currently short players too, and scrambling to field a team. This seems to be a common problem when the TOC can be up to a year after a team qualifies...we qualified in Feb. 2012 and the team isn't even together now. Also, we're a younger team so we can't help you, LoL. Would be nice if we could get at least a tentative list of who's confirmed for the TOC. By the time we know who's coming, it'll be three weeks from the tourney. SSUSA seems to be more concerned about pushing their 1st TOC Fantasy Camp, really?...a fantasy camp for senior players, you've got to be kidding me! Talk about trying to squeeze blood out of the turnip. Priorities, priorities, priorities. Tony |
| Nov. 25, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Performance enhancing Ron, You're absolutely right, you will not be getting many confessions, or acknowledgements of usage to this inquiry. I suspect that there are certainly players amongst us that are/or have taken HGH or possibly other PED's. I also understand that HGH is rather expensive, so I would expect the number to be low...but they're out there. Tony |

| Oct. 12, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Is SSUSA trying to go too far? Mike, Very well put, a well thought out, well written verbal lashing if you will. Sadly, I doubt it will have any effect on this individual as he'll most likely move on to the next thread to hijack and voice his repetitive nonsense about the nature of the SSUSA game and events, none of which he even patronizes. | Oct. 9, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2012 vegas worlds In our third game Friday at Cheyenne, out of position 2B umpire calls one of our players out for missing the 2B bag, which he clearly stepped right on, even showing the ump his cleat print. We ask for help from home plate ump and he says not his call...third out inning over. On our way out to field, player says to home plate umpire, "how can he make that call?". Home plate ump responds to player across the diamond with "do better next time". Really? I told him his job was to call balls and strikes and not add his personal commentary, to which he replied, "I'm a grown ass man" SSUSA, I understand this tourney drew more teams than ever before. Maybe next year, we can do better with some of the umpiring crews. |
| Oct. 2, 2012 gott2play | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 55 Major Division - Omega QSE Champions Mike, I know many of the guys from NCI and was sorry to hear what occurred. I'm sure this single event affected the entire NCI team negatively, and made a otherwise great softball weekend end badly for you and your teammates. From a sportsmanship standpoint, embarrassed and offended is the word I heard used. This type of behavior should never be tolerated and has no place in this game we have the privilege to play at our age. Congratulations to Omega QSE, a great team who is on quite a roll. We played them on Friday and knew right away that they would certainly be in the mix. Tony Baltazar So Cal 55's - 55 Major |
| Oct. 1, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Cheyenne Park for Worlds E4/E6 (John), I think you're missing rightrj1's (Ron's) point. He is simply saying that Cheyenne Park shouldn't even be used as one of the venues for this event, and he's right... pretty much the worst fields in Vegas. As for the "best players" comment, both age divisions there were Major Plus, pretty much making them the best in their age division. They just got shafted this weekend. Hey, the 40's Major/Major Plus, and 50 Major Plus get to play at the Big League Dreams facility this upcoming weekend, so good for them. Tony Baltazar So Cal 55's - Major |
| Sept. 17, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Ratings I see SSUSA has clarified. My mistake. |
| Sept. 17, 2012 gott2play | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Ratings #19, IMO, the Eastern Nationals is a SSUSA sanctioned tourney and winning it is not an automatic bump. SPA is not an SSUSA tourney and winning it wouldn't play into the SSUSA ratings. More importantly, there were only 5 teams in that Eastern Nationals 60AAA bracket. Tony |
