Discussion: TONY MAIURINO PASSES AWAY

THE SYRACUSE, NY. SOFTBALL COMMUNITY AND MANY OTHER PLAYERS AND TEAMS WHO KNEW TONY ARE SADDENED BY HIS PASSING ON DEC.30TH, 2008.

TONY, WHO WAS 71 YRS OLD, WAS EXCITED AND GETTING READY TO PLAY NEXT WEEKEND IN THE TOC IN FLORIDA FOR THE SYRACUSE CYCLONES 60'S TEAM. HE HAD A HEART ATTACK ON DEC. 30TH AND PASSED AWAY. THIS IS A SUDDEN SHOCK TO THOSE WHO HAD KNOWN TONY AS HE ALWAYS WAS PROUD AT KEEPING HIMSELF IN GREAT SHAPE TO PLAY THE GAME HE LOVED. OBVIOUSLY, AT 71 YRS OLD AND STILL ABLE TO PLAY ON A 60'S TEAM....TONY COULD PLAY WITH THE BEST OF THEM. I AM SURE HE WILL BE WATCHING MANY SOFTBALL TOURNEYS FROM THOSE BLEECHERS IN HEAVEN. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AT THEIR LOSS.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, CONTRIBUTIONS CAN BE MADE TO HUMANE ASSOCIATION, 4915 1/2 W.TAFT RD, LIVERPOOL, NY 13088 OR THE ASPCA, 5878 E. MOLLOY RD, SYRACUSE, NY 13211.

Discussion: 50 player looking for AAA or major team on the east coast

Hi JC15....I coach a Men's 50 AAA team in New York called Shark Sports. I would be interested in talking to you about playing next year. We travel to many tourneys and won 2 tourneys, finished 2nd in 2 others and just finished 5th in Fort Myers (Winter Nationals). You can email me at Cshark44@aol.com. We play in tourneys along the East Coast.

Discussion: LOOKING FOR A TEAM SPONSOR

Our Shark Sports Men's 50 AAA team is looking for a team sponsor for the 2009 season. We travel along the East coast competing in the SSUSA softball tourneys and would be spreading the sponsor's name in that area along with being in the SSUSA National Newspaper. We usually go to 4-5 tourneys each year (1 per month) and we are looking for a sponsor to pay entry fees for these tourneys (about $ 450 per tourney).

The sponsor would be associated with a winning team with a class act.

If interested contact:

Discussion: NORTHEAST CHAMPIONSHIPS (Cape May, NJ) - Scores & Bracket Results

Dave, I want to congratulate you on an excellent job in running the Cape May tourney considering the inclement weather we had before the games actually started. You did a great job and our team agreed that we will be looking to return to this tourney in 2009. The teams in the 50 AAA bracket were evenly matched and even though we finished in second place, we lost to a good team (Gubiotti's Insurance) and a great bunch of guys. All the teams in the 50 AAA were a CLASS ACT and Dave you were a part of that CLASS in running a great tourney.

Thanks again......and thank you also Fran for your help,

Chuck Sharkey

Discussion: Looking For 49 or 50 AAA Players for NY Team

I am still looking for interested players who are now 49 or 50 yrs old or older to play on a competitive Men's 50 AAA team....Shark Sports from New York. We have 2 more tourneys on our schedule this year....one in September (Cape May, NJ) and the other in Fort Myers, Fl in November. Players who are 49 this year and will turn 50 in 2009 are eligible to play in the Fort Myers tourney. We are always looking to improve our team as we have a "young" 50's team. Anyone interested can contact Chuck Sharkey at cshark44@aol.com and if not available this year (2008) then maybe you can be a part of a our team in 2009. If you can please leave a phone number and your softball experience in the email.
Thanks....

Discussion: My condolences to Terry Hennessy and his family

My condolences to you Terry and your family on the loss of your mother. I have met you in the past a few times and consider you a long-distance friend. It is times like these that friends need to know that they are thought of when they suffer a loss of a loved one. As the newly appointed New York State director of the SSUSA C&L program I hope to be in contact with you more in the future. If you need anything from myself or my team, let me know. Our thoughts are with you.......
