so your telling me there were 115 tournaments that had TOC qualifying...as that is the condition to be able to go to it right....winning one of those.....also i'm with capt kirk that it should be held before any of the next years tourney's are held(nov-dec time frame)......

Discussion: Balls 52/300

james went and did some research and ASA as of 1 jan 2014,only allows the 52-300 ball...so i guess the bat mfg'er has a point in not allowing a warranty.....when using 44-375's.....email coming..

hi james whats up.....we use the AD STARR TATTOO'S for our senior league....we have a bring your own ball league's here so there are others also..but we stick with the tattoo's as does most of the other leagues/teams.....mens open, senior, church and coed......get a hold of kevin schulstrom at AD STARR....what bat was that they wouldn't warranty.......

jawood... i found some inserts for your shoes that helped me....they are called walk rite...i found them on ebay...and they seem to help used them for a few months...and then i went to regular inserts that were for high arches and have been using them all the time now and have no problems per say.....the therapy that wayne talks of is good also...a frozen water bottle also helps..use it in the same manner as wayne says of the softball....i think a tennis ball would be to soft tho...just saying as i never heard of using a tennis ball....but hey if it works use it too.....

Discussion: Do you use senior bats in non tournament games/leagues?

ju25...better be careful with that ball if your playing in cool weather 65-70 degrees or lower as that ball hardens up and will be a bat breaker...that is what the 40 C.O.R. tells you....also compression goes up when the temps go down.....i would rather hit the 52-300 that we hit in our league..also when it get hots 80-85 degrees and higher that ball will soften upon ya and is like hitting a sock....

Discussion: Do you use senior bats in non tournament games/leagues?

our senior league is run by ASA senior rules except for the ball(for bats we use senior bats per ASA rules)...we use the 52-300 ball and have no problems what so ever.....no whining or anything about the ball... we just play and have fun.....

gary like your idea of the repairs....might have to check into that myself as i have a few broke bats here.......

please bruce,nancy..explain how we are loosing innings or time.....no way does the 1-1 count do that.....the only thing that is lost are 2 pitches to the batter who goes to a full count....so again where are the innings or time is lost......by using the 1-1 count........

also curveball you forgot about the ones who win the winters in nov 2014 this year don't get to play their TOC till feb 2016....talk about having to get your players back together.....that is some wait right there...14 months plus.......i have also never understood why they do this...i have been given the explanation that there are contracts in place with the cities involved and can't be undone at this time....

Discussion: Bat Flex

to me DC..it would affect your timing per say.....if there is flex you are hitting the ball to late unless you compensate...kind of like the golfers 85% swing......softballers tend to gorilla swing....they aren't looking to place the ball most times.....i personally like the stiff handle in a bat as i swing hard.and have had the flex in the handle mess me up till i slow my swing down a bit.....now if a batter gets the right swing with the bat handle flex he/she can have good results....like the golfer who slows down their swing....just like a golf club.....with a bat ya want the kick point to be as your hitting the ball so as to snap thru........

DBax....it is been that way for ASA and if i remember right USSSA...i asked about this a few years back as i was seeing guys just standing on the line in SSUSA play..and was told they can do it..and SSUSA doesn't use the ASA rule for that i was told....i did ask a SSUSA staff member who knew the rules....

Discussion: Home plate Mat size change?

ok the ball is 3" in diameter....so that is 3" to each side ...plate is 17" wide...add 6" and you have 23" total....so 24" sounds like a good width to me.....now for the length...it is already 34" long..so why not have the mat 36" long....and anyone saying that the mat is easy to hit....that is BS...as anyone who has pitched knows......

bruceaz....what assoc are you looking at....as ASA has it that the batters foot must be completely inside the box before the pitcher ..pitches.......

katzy..not according to ASA...batter must be completely in the box before the pitch...no over hanging like when making contact.....as a pitcher i have called out batters who standing outside the box to the ump...and ump just basically ignores it...
