| July 18, 2005 Connie | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: USSSA Senior Women's World The USSSA Senior Women's World Softball Tournament will be held September 16-18, 2005 This is one of the fastest growning, and fun tournaments of the year! The City of Gallatin Leisure Services Department is the host for the tournament. All information concerning this tournament will be posted online at www.usssa.com. All divisions from 45+ age division through the 70+ age division will be offered! Entry fee is $350.00 per team and Deadline for the entry is August 30, 2005 Awards are the followings: 1st Place Team receives Gold Medals plus an embroidered World Jackets 2nd Place Team receives Silver Medals plus Visors 3rd + 4th s Place Teams receive Bronze Medals 1st - 6th Place Teams receive a Team Plaque Awards are also given to All World, Best Defense and Offense Players, MVP and an added award goes to the Oldest Play at the Tournament Activities include: Friday Evening Social with Music and Free Dinner is provided to all althetes - includes door prizes. According to the SSWC 2005 Rule book, page 86 Rule 13.4 (4) Courtest Runner Coming to Bat While on Base: A courtesy runner on baase when it is his tun to bat will be declared out. The runner will be removed from the base and a second courtesy runner cannot be subsititued. The courtesy runner called out does not lose his turn at bat. According to your scenerio then the runner on third is now going to be up to bat - that means he is called out - making it the third out. |

| March 4, 2005 Connie | Topic: Women's softball Discussion: Looking for women 45+to play in Cleveland, Ohio KC HI - I think it is GREAT that you are trying to start up a team in Cleveland! My suggestion is to contact your local paper, i.e. Cleveland Plain Dealer or the Akron paper and advertise for players. Talk to the Sports Writer and see if they can do an article for you. Also, remember to leave an email address or phone number on this message board so that people are able to contact you! You can also submit a posting on the womensseniorsoftball.com message board. This year at our Senior Softball Women's Advisory Council meeting we established a "Masters" Division for the ladies in the 40 + age group. This Division will be invited to the Senior Softball Tournaments around the United States. The more teams that form in this division the bigger this division will become and the better the opportunities are for the transition into our Women's Senior Program! Our "Masters" Division Coordinator will provide any help she can -- you can reach her at cyndi1@cox.com.
