1billyd: Nothing new here. Last year in a SSUSA tourney, there was only one 70's major + team and one 65 major team in attendance. They had to play "even-up" with only the winner going to the TOC (the 65 major team). IMHO, both teams should have been invited.

Hey Bruce, you should visit us more often at Woodlawn. For bkb555, Dave's most recent address is woodlawnone1@verizon.net. When we see you, we'll give you all the updates. LOL

Discussion: Best Pitcher

Webbie, I have to agree with you about Bobby Davis. The only time he throws a "straight" ball is the occasional BP he pitches. Then he's like a machine! Game day though, I think he just "messes" with us 'cause he can! LOL

I would have to agree with Southernson about Bobby Davis' pitching. But, more importantly, I doubt that Cerce could even approach Bobby's power!

Warren, we hit EVERY Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 a.m.. 'Course, if we do get rained out, there is always the fine breakfast at the old El Tenampa where we tell each other how great we were. LOL. Rainouts are few and far between, though. There's always a dry spot somewhere. Come and be welcomed!

titanhd; Pug asked about the AAA 50's, which closes one week before on August 24th. The 55's, etc., closes on the 31st. I hope that's correct - or I'll be seriuosly late!

Not so. According to SPA's brochure, the deadline was August 24th. Purportedly, the schedule is due tomorrow.

Bruce, each team was told only the winner went to the TOC. My query; at the TOC, should the younger team play in the 70 MP brackets or should the older team play in the 65 M brackets?

Bruce, suppose - just suppose - a 70 Major Plus team was required to play a 65 Major team, the best 2 out of 3, even-up, should both teams be invited to the TOC?

Discussion: Miken Ultra II balanced and end load.

Just my two cents; I've broken four Rebok endloads (one 28oz and three 26oz) since last November. They all performed as expected but didn't last. Being poverty stricken, I returned to the balanced (black) U2 (bpf 1.21) and am sorely disappointed - and I have well over 200 swings on it. It feels like a piece of wood when contact is made and very little distance. It's been that way from the date of purchase about two months ago. Ed, I agree, the Rebok is good. But, I can't afford the cost.

Several exist. For tournament teams, try Florida Half Century at fhcsoftball.org. For leagues, check the local area (e.g. The Villages, Three Score around the Clearwater area, etc.)

Discussion: Snowbird Rule

I still can't understand the difference between the SSUSA and the SPA on the Snowbird Rule. SPA allows a player, when in his snowbird State, to play on a team from an adjoining State. SSUSA sez - a player, when in his snowbird State may only play on a team from the snowbird State. I need help understanding this as we - now - have to submit our applications for November.

Discussion: Has Anyone Else Had Problems With The Reebok ME'LEE Legend Senior Softball Bat Because Mine Cracked After 45 Hits Any Durability Problems?

Ed, I'm happy once again. I finally received my long awaited yellow, Melee EL, thanks to Bobby Davis. And, it's all I expected it to be. 'Course, I only have about 30 swings on it so far, but "it be doin' good."

Just received my Reebok Melee Legend, 28oz, EL this morning. I'll take this opportunity to thank Bobby Davis for goiny the extra mile for me. He, personally, hand delivered it to our hitting club. Thanks again Bobby!

I was just "browsing" and saw a Reebok Melee Legend, 30oz, EL, ready for shipment, on ebay. The problem? It has a BLUE barrel (it shows it on the bat) instead of the RED or YELLOW. Since I've never seen one - or even heard of one - is this another version?

Discussion: hip replacement

After much research, I settled on a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing Unit. It's not a "total hip replacement" as they do not cut the bone. I had mine done Aug. 28, 2006. On Feb. 3, 2007, I ran a 5K race. My time was under 12 minutes a mile which wasn't the best, but good enough. I now play the outfield, run for myself, and, on occassion others. Check into it as the recovery and rehab is rapid and it has greater life than taking the total route.
