Nancy call me when you have time. 845 532 2668.

Ozone all good questions, some I will answer.

As far as performance of the bat I will leave that up to players that are customers. I wont say how good it is because it is my bat.

This bat passed the bpf test with plenty of room to spare. Because of the materials I use the performance and durability is where it needs to be. This particular bat was intended for big power hitters that broke a lot of bats. As it all came together and testing done it turns out that anyone can excel with this bat. A couple of key points. This bat will never get a soft as other senior bats. When broken in it is not stiff it just won't get as soft. It will feel like a combat or miken half way broken in. As time goes on the bat feels the same, but the sweetspot will continue to get larger to the point that the whole barrel will hit well. Now it may not feel good when you hit the taper but it will hit good.

As for future bats, I was in meetings yesterday all day going over options. As of now I have 20 bats with 9 finished, they include utrip, asa, fastpitch and little league and of course bigger barrel more balanced senior. We just put this bat out and haven't even received our first big shipment so it will be a few more months for the next one. Once that happens it will change. First and for most we have to prove to the customer that this bat is the real deal. No sense in making new bats for customers we don't have. The improvements I have already worked on successfully are sweetspot and a bat without an end cap, both finished. This bat if you roll it, it will break in 100 swings, the bat without a end cap will break inside and just wont hit the ball. Without an endcap there will be now way to shave it also.

As far as the worst bat I made. The original bat that passed certification was 50 ft longer than this on, I toned this bat down because it was to good. Don't even bother to ask if that one will be made because it never will, end of story. 3 of them sit in my living room in the corner. Good luck trying to get them.

Thank you

good luck in Vegas.

Boo's name? Yes Boo's and several others. More will be added as we go. This is not an endorsement of the bat and is not intended to be.

It started about 15 years ago when I met and became friends with Mike Dove. For all the guys that knew him there is no further explanation needed. For those who didn't he was the guy that would change you life just by knowing him, and it did change my life. Sadly Mike passed due to a battle with cancer. He passed on a Saturday morning. The Thursday prior I was at his house to see on my way to a tournament. When I was leaving we held hands while he prayed for me. That was Mike, he touched my life forever.

When I did this bat I decided to put M5D with a dove next to it to honor the man that meant so much to me.

As time went on I felt the need to honor other friends with their names on the bat. I am not waiting until they pass or maybe me and it never gets done. More names will be added I am sure but it is a start. Friendships are worth more than any amount of money, they define who we are in life and help us through the bad times. I am very fortunate for the friends I have and they are my family.

So when you ask why is someone on the bat this is why. Are there other great ball players that names could be on the bat because of their ability? Yes but that is not what this is about. BTW the guys who are on the bat are all great players and tops in their age group, I am just honored they are my friends.

Of course there will, some day. As of now I have 20 different designs all from this platform. I am just deciding what I want to do next. I will have a 26 maybe a 24 and 25 as well. Right now I am just selling the bats I have and working on the next one. This is the worst one I have made and as time goes on they will change rapidly. The bat that was in Dalton this past weekend is up to 4500 swings and still going. I have sold them to people of every skill level and size and have not had anyone say the bat was not for them. However a certain person from another company keeps repeating that so you will buy theirs. Time will tell.

Good luck to all in Vegas.

The NIGHTMARE bat has been approved for all play in SSUSA softball. The bat has passed testing for all weights offered and is now licensed for play. Good luck to all teams heading to Vegas for the worlds.

Discussion: NorCal Warriors bumped to Major Plus

This never happens to east coast teams, that funny. There is a east coast team that should be AAA but they won a tourney that no one was at and they are now major+. They can't beat any major teams and have for 2 years lost to many AAA teams. I have played against them they are bad. They no longer play SSUSA. Last years worlds they lost every game.

Discussion: Is Pitching Mask mandatory

A quality hockey or catchers mask will probably stop a ball from breaking your skull but test have shown they will not stop a brain injury. Hockey pucks and baseballs are much lighter. Catchers and hockey goalies are constantly getting concussions in todays games.
Hockey pucks are 5.5to 6 oz, baseballs are 5 to 5.25. Softballs are 6.5 to 7 oz. So if brain injuries are occurring with things that are at least 1 oz less in weight adding 1 oz at 100 mph puts SI way over what is safe.

Skep I am with you on that but it will happen it is just a matter of when. Being in the industry we all fear the day the lawsuit hits our desk. There have been over 20 suits in softball in the last 10 years with the associations, all have been settled instead of trials. Insurance goes up and players bitch about the price they pay to play.

Talk about assumed risk, in the lawsuits it goes down like this. A judge assesses risk to the parties involved. field owner, bat manufacturer, ball manufacturer, association, etc. The judge may say association is 60% ball 10% bat 10% field owner 10%. If it was because of poor field conditions it could be association 50% field owner 50%. Many different scenarios. It is a shame but it happens everyday.

I just think if you mandate something that does not exist you are opening up yourself to a lawsuit.

Discussion: Is Pitching Mask mandatory

Swing I have seen the plastic mask's break, I don't remember the name but they were all made with clear plastic. # of them broke in testing. As for the hockey analogy that is true for hockey and also the baseball mask's are strong but they do not prevent injuries to the brain on a severe impact. That is why nocsae has backed away from testing. A softball traveling at speeds over 90 with the weight of the ball is an excessive force. I am all for safety but you also have to look at the liability aspect of it also. The first pitcher that get hits and hires a lawyer and claims that he was injured due to various reasons that include the mask will have a field day in court. The main reason is that the association mandated a piece of equipment to be used by a player that does not exist. So it's like the Army issuing a catchers chest protector instead of a bullet proof vest.

So if a mask breaks and the pitcher is injured who is now liable for the injury? What if the pitchers vision is impaired by the mask on a normal ball that could have been caught and a injury occurs? it seems to me that ssusa is opening themselves up to a lawsuit. Why would you even want to test those waters? Glad I don't pitch.

Dave sorry to say there is no such thing as a nocsae approved pitching mask. None of the masks today would pass such a test for softball that is why nocsae does not perform the test. I have worked with the nocsae lab for many years in testing various products and a safe pitching mask does not exist according to the teat results.

Discussion: Teams leaving SSUSA?

I think there are a lot more reasons why teams are not playing or playing as much.

Money for one thing has teams playing closer to home.

More senior associations hold events more regionally.

Rules for making a team is another, in the northeast it is very difficult to compete with the current rules. other associations have made concessions to the northeast to make it easier to put teams together that are competitive.

These are just a few there are many more.
