Dave that same multi layer ball has been out since 2003 and sanctioned, it used to be sanctioned by all associations but all but 1 banned it. Now you can buy it with ISA sanctioning.

We've had no problem getting balls. Every container has been on time within a few days. Our only problem has been supplying all of the new customers due to shortages of other companies. Wonder why they have so many problems?

The difference between the rock and the ssusa trump ball is 2 things.

First the rock ball. It is a .44/375 compression ball. It has a composite cover which is a woven back material with a pu impregnation. When it is hot this cover stays the same and does not stretch. This balls weights 6.75 to 7 ounces.

The ssusa ball is a synthetic cover .44/375. It weights 6.5 +- .2. When it is hot the synthetic cover will slip on contact with the bat and you will lose some performance. It is also lighter, the same weight as all other association softballs. Being lighter it will not flex the bats as much as the heavy ASA ball.

The ISA rock, well not much to say there. I make one with our new company and I don't even want to hit it with senior bats.

Discussion: Major plus problem

There is a lot of problems with softball and they will never fix them all. Here's one for all of you left coasters to think about. Here in the north east we have states the size of counties in Ca and AZ that are land locked. Entire states that can't play 40 miles to the west, because of a 12 mile piece of land that separates 2 states. Guy that drive and play league with a team but can't play tourney ball with the same team. Try to assemble a legal team that is middle of the road at major because we are so limited for players.

You guys should not be complaining, the west coast has every advantage, then Mid-Atlantic.
You always see teams from the northeast do very well out west in AA and AAA because these good players have to stay with local teams.

Not if you have a good one, they will out hit .44/375 balls on real hot days.

Discussion: 50 MAJOR & MAJOR PLUS COMBINED

A couple of things here, the other association that does not have major+ still has great parity between the teams. We are major and beat major+ teams often, and the beat us the same. Are there some teams that get beat on a regular basis? Yes but in every division you have teams that get beat a lot more than they win.

Tim you hit the nail right on the head. If you are over 50 and can't afford to pay for yourself you should probably get a part time job on the weekend. Being that close to retirement and not being able to support your own hobbies isn't a good thing.

I know being a better player you are used to having someone pay for everything but sponsors have left the game and aren't coming back. Maybe it is a good time to be grateful we had them in the first place. I know I could buy a really nice house with the money I have spent over the years, I have no regrets but I am not going to continue to do this on 50+ year olds.
I had 1 guy that played golf 2 times a week at 120.00 a day but would call and complain he couldn't afford to split a hotel room with somebody for 2 nights, I don't think he is playing anywhere now.

There's been major teams that won and did not move up. They also returned with almost the exact same team.

1.21 bpf is just that. Companies can increase durability, sweet spot handle flex etc.... There is only 1 way to make a bat hit farther and still pass the test. Of all of the bats I tested none have figured it out.

Tex Tran, what you were seeing is bending modes. There are 4 in a bat and everyone has been trying to eliminate at least 1 for over 20 years now.

Someone has figured it out.
