Thanks to everyone for supporting the tournament. It's been a rough stretch for folks in Central Florida. The restaurants and hotels in Polk County appreciated having you.

Looks like it was a great tourney even with the rain.

All things considered, we made out pretty well.

THUR play was washed out, but we played extra rounds on TUE & WED to get ahead. Divisions that weren't completed on the field were played through the winner's bracket final.

Fields were ready to go FRI afternoon until a 1pm rain dump got us. We were able to get 60 AAA going later that afternoon. SAT was a massive undertaking- 11 rounds of games (5 inning games) to get us caught up. SUN games were played at regulation time. In the end, all teams in S2 played the 5gg that was advertised.

A tremendous job by Tim, Gail and Carmine of SSSA.. In spite of the challenges with the unpredictable weather, they somehow were able to keep things on track and deserve a tip of the hat. They don't get enough appreciation for the work that they do. Well done!

Tim, for what it’s worth, I think you and the SSUSA staff did a great job running and coordinating Session I of the Winter Nationals. After Tuesday's rains I didn’t imagine we’d play again and after Wednesday morning’s downpour and windstorm I assumed again that we were finished. You were masterful in adjusting schedules, communicating changes, and having the fields playable. I normally eat very healthy during tournaments but I was so sure we weren’t going to play Wednesday afternoon that I put down a huge bacon cheeseburger and two sides for lunch…I wasn’t too happy with you when I finished my last bite and then received your text saying the games were on and we were starting an hour early. 😊
I know you and the SSUSA staff worked tirelessly on our behalf and it was much appreciated. Very impressive job.
