The bat you are referring to has taper proof inside coating. If the bat is shaved it removes the security lettering. I saw the bat in question before it was sent off, it appeared to have the lettering removed.

Discussion: Using one ball for all games

First off some balls are not what they are stamped. The multi layer balls are basically .44/525 with a padded cover to fool the test protocol. The other ball mentioned I have had the lab test it and it isn't even close to what the cover says it is.

Now the ball used in the worlds in Dalton was a totally different ball, it sounded horrible but flew very well for guys that really can hit home runs.

When I got there on Thursday the 60 teams that I have friends on were all complaining. Friday morning my first swing went a loooong way. Our team hit the limit every game and then some. I brought 2 of them back and had them tested again not what they say on the cover but I think it was a very good combination of cor/comp for senior games and a lot safer than a multi layer.

Discussion: Religious ceremonies at tournaments

Our team is from the northeast and have players from a very mixed religious faith. One of our opponents which we are all friends with pray after the game. I asked the coach who I have been friends with for many years not to ask our players due to our diversity. It in no way is a slap in the face to them and our players are not made to feel uncomfortable. He completely understood and no ill will towards any. We do play them often and remain friends.

That is how I handled it and all is fine with them. Off the field we hang out with them as much as our own team.

I have a new ball that comes out today. It is 100% waterproof, the most durable ball I have ever made. The performance is out of this world also. It is a true single layer .44/375 and will hit as well as any multi layer balls on the market. After the game take them home and wash them and use them the next game.

Dave that same multi layer ball has been out since 2003 and sanctioned, it used to be sanctioned by all associations but all but 1 banned it. Now you can buy it with ISA sanctioning.

We've had no problem getting balls. Every container has been on time within a few days. Our only problem has been supplying all of the new customers due to shortages of other companies. Wonder why they have so many problems?

The difference between the rock and the ssusa trump ball is 2 things.

First the rock ball. It is a .44/375 compression ball. It has a composite cover which is a woven back material with a pu impregnation. When it is hot this cover stays the same and does not stretch. This balls weights 6.75 to 7 ounces.

The ssusa ball is a synthetic cover .44/375. It weights 6.5 +- .2. When it is hot the synthetic cover will slip on contact with the bat and you will lose some performance. It is also lighter, the same weight as all other association softballs. Being lighter it will not flex the bats as much as the heavy ASA ball.

The ISA rock, well not much to say there. I make one with our new company and I don't even want to hit it with senior bats.
