| May 29, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Anyone used or tried compression socks ? I had a blood clot in my right thigh (Calf swelled). Was told to use compression socks when I play. I bought Miken's VO2FX compression socks. They are expensive, around $40 a pair! I got mine for $20 on Amazon. I love them! They are very comfortable and seem to help my legs during tournaments. Would recommend them to anyone with leg problems. |
| May 13, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Equalizer rule question Thank You for the quick response SSUSA! |
| May 13, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Equalizer rule question We are playing in the Bobby Chapp Tournament in Lansing this weekend. We are a 55 AAA team. We play 2 preliminary games on Saturday. Even though there are 6 teams in our division (50/55 AA&AAA) we do not play any of them in the preliminaries. We play a 60 Major and a 60 Major plus team. My question is what is the equalizer here? I think when we play the 60 major team we play them even, and when we play the 60 Major+ team we get the 5 runs or fielder. We also play by our rules (AAA). Please let me know if I am correct. Thanks |
| May 5, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: Sponsor looking to finance an "established" Men's club First of all, this BS should not even of happened on a Forum. A private Email to Sparky explaining why you do not want his sponsership was all that was necessary. He does not deserve all the shit he is getting? Pricer, if you don't want his friend thats fine, but why badmouth a guy trying to help a senior softball team? There are teams out there that will except his sponsership even with the player situation. Lets all just say thanks to Sparky for his efforts and leave him alone. |
| March 25, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: Players looking to join a team Discussion: player looking to get on a team downriver michigan Hey Jim & Dave Both you guys should be hitting in Novi. If you haven't heard the Livonia Cantebury team has folded in CanAM. Lost to many guys. Not sure where everyone is going but I decided to go with Leons and try to make them better. | Feb. 10, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Looking for a 60+ team in Michigan/Ohio Area Couldn't come up with a sponser. Did not want to start team without money! Mac is playing with Michigan Express 60. Also not a great commitment from US Utilitys guys. Next year I know quite a few guys turning 60. Will see what happens. |
| Feb. 10, 2013 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Looking for a 60+ team in Michigan/Ohio Area My 60+ team (US Utilities) folded this winter. I am now looking for a new tournament team. I am 62, left handed, pitch, play first or catch. Played for Pinnacle/Mike Valerio in my 50's. Willing to travel and help a team anyway I can. Let me know if you want anymore info. Thanks |
| July 27, 2012 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Great Lakes Regional Ho, you are correct, just got revised schedule and things were set right. three game prelim to a double elimination tourny, Nice job SPA!! |
| July 26, 2012 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Great Lakes Regional I know this is the SSUSA board but I would like your guys opinion. We are playing in the SPA Great Lakes Tournament next weekend. We are playing 60 AAA with only 3 teams. We play 2 prelim games Friday then one more Prelim game Saturday morning. Then Saturday afternoon we play a SINGLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT. So if you lose the first game you will have only played 4 games in a 5 game minimum tournament. We are playing at Pacesetter Park in Sylavania, Ohio (a grear complex with 8 fields). Just wondering what you guys think of a single elimination tournament for a Regional (50 AAA with 6 teams is also a single elimination tournament). Thanks |
| June 1, 2012 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For Those Who Play in the Winter States Nancy, I live in Michigan and starting in January a bunch of us hit in a Soccer Dome in Wixom. It is a full field dome with astro turf and alot of room. We do not use real softballs we use a softer version. We do not play games but it keeps us in softball shape. |

| Dec. 21, 2011 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Teams 2011 The K. Sheeran team out of Michigan was one of the best teams I saw in AAA all year. Great defence, outstanding speed and hitting thru out the lineup. |
| Sept. 18, 2011 Michigan Vet | Topic: Teams looking for players Discussion: Kensington Valley Senior Softball League (Michigan) What bats are you allowing in the League? Are you allowing Senior bats? This will make a big difference in getting people to play. I play in Can-Am 55+ League on Tues & Thurs morning. This is a real good league with 10 teams, 7 can beat any team on any day. (Windsor Chiefs, Bench Pub/Livonia, Oak Park, Line Drive/Detroit, Pet Supply/Warren, Canerbury/Livonia and BK Realty/Taylor are the good teams). Qe use Senior bats. |
| Sept. 3, 2011 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: WELL THEN, WHAT ABOUT 60'S AAA; WHO's THE BEST? Why do the teams from the East ALWAYS have to go out west? Why dont the west teams go East occasionaly. It cost the same to go either way! JMO |
| Aug. 30, 2011 Michigan Vet | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Who is the best 50 AAA right now in SSUSA? K Sheeran/Polyviou Dental out of Detroit area is avery good 50 AAA team. They won the Northern Regionals pretty handly. They have a very fast outfield and a good infield. Dont hit alot of HR's but will easily score 20 runs a game. Would give anyone in the country a run for their money! |
