| Feb. 3, 2013 paul0784 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Adding a player or players SO, Titan what you are saying is he can't play this year at all then. He is released by his team and I can't pick him up so he can't play at all this year? There are no other teams in our area to play for except 55 AAA. |
| Feb. 3, 2013 paul0784 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Adding a player or players I would like to know from SSUSA standpoint the ruling on this situation. I have a couple of players who have called me and their team got bumped from 50 MAJ to MAJ+ and they are being let go because they are expendable at the 50 MAJ+ level. They would like to play for us and we just got moved down to AAA for our performance in the 55 MAJ Worlds. They are also turning 55 and would like to play at the 55 age group. The other team is a 50 MAJ+ team now. They haven't played a game with them as MAJ+ and I would like to add him or them to my team as 55 AAA players. Can I get a ruling here on this? |
| Nov. 27, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Replacement Surgery My PT person says that shoulder replacement is not ready for prime time. They have issues with range of motion and it supposedly is limited so be careful. I asked about this and was told no by my surgeon. JMO.... |

| Sept. 15, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Bases @ 70' ShaneV so sorry NY Motion isn't going to Vegas. They were in last week but must have dropped out. The first time I saw the list they were on it. Really surprised they aren't going and more surprised none of the AAA teams are going either. So what does that mean for you guys, you automatically win the US Nationals right? Would have been more fun playing I know. Well, good luck there and hope you do well. |
| Sept. 3, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Meniscus Surgery Recovery Time? I have had two also and safe to say 4-6 weeks depending on how motivated you are and your PT of course. I had to take out the lateral completely and it was about 6 weeks. It all depends on you and your PT afterwards. |
| Sept. 2, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Player Ratings Fred in your league what is the sense of keeping score if it is a rec league and anyone who has played competitive all his life why would he want to play in your league? I can understand why you don't post anymore the competitive bones are gone. Just like when kids play all the kids should play equal time and the heck with the more talented kids just hold them back and play rec league. JMO Can't fault a guy who wants to win and put the best possible team on the field all the time. It is the competitive way. |
| Sept. 2, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Las Vegas Worlds 55AAA ShaneV looking to see who your next preys will be? We will be there however we will be at a different complex in the MJ this year. Wish we could get to play you guys again this year. Good luck, hope you do well? Paul Hannington/Bay State Bombers |
| Aug. 15, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 5 game guarantee SSUSA staff as it turns out the two teams who won their first games Saturday were the only teams that could be sent home Saturday. It would have been better for us to lose to Sweets our first game then we would have been guaranteed to be around on Sunday. This is what JRHUNCH is getting to. We (Hannington/Bay State) got penalized for winning our first game and so did Pace. Along with that we played three games on Saturday and the teams that made it to Sunday only played two? How does that happen... |
| Aug. 8, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: EASTERN NATIONAL'S 2012 • Game Scores and Bracket Results Must have been nice not having to play your two seeding games in the 90+ degree weather while everyone else had to play those games and then run the table to take the trophy? They played 0 games Friday, 2 games Saturday and 4 games Sunday to win from the loser's bracket. Have they even lost a game in all the tournaments they have played in? |
| Aug. 7, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Scores for Western Regionals Somewhere along the way we forgot how to hit. We have been averaging 10-12 runs a game and you can't win with that. We played a 50 Major team in PA and won 32-30 and 31-10 so we haven't forgot just don't seem to be as consistent this year. We will be out in Vegas and maybe we can find our bats again. Again congrats on your win and I believe you've got NY Motion for the East/West game this year in the AAA. Good Luck and hope to see you there? Paul Hannington's/Bay Sate Bombers |

| Aug. 7, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Scores for Western Regionals Nice work James sorry we won't be there for your return performance in the East/West game in Vegas. Turns out Majors is a little more competitive than we thought. We will be in Vegas but paying our dues I guess. We haven't seemed to have adjusted yet to the Majors. But when we do watch out. LOL Good job this past weekend wish we were going to play you guys again. See you in Vegas.... |
| July 25, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 5 run spot that allows 6 runs per inning to lower rated teams Gary, that is the whole idea of the runs is that the lower ranked team is not as good and to give the upper teams more teams to play then you have to EQUALIZE them as best you can. If not the lower ranked teams don't go to tournaments unless they have teams in their own skill level to play. I don't like the runs either but sometimes it is warranted. |
| July 20, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: WESTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS....A concern? Last 3 years in the Eastern Nationals it was 95 degrees with last year getting rain Sat morning and 98% humidity so welcome to our world. The only thing we didn't have was the altitude. |
| July 18, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Batters Box Dimensions/Layout surf88 http://www.azsoftball.org/misc/2006/Misc/05.softball.umpire.rulebook.pdf try this link Ruke 2 The Playing Field Hope this helps? |
| July 18, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Batters Box Dimensions/Layout The batter's box when the mat wasn't there was four feet from the point where the plate starts to taper back and three feet back from same point making a 7' batter's box. So, yes you did have more room in front than back. Not real sure with the mat in place? Can't imagine it would be different? |

| June 11, 2012 paul0784 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: WESTERN NATIONALS IN AURORA, COLORADO After having won the Triple Grand Slam last year I would say that it feels like wining 12 events after winning the Eastern, Us Nationals and Worlds. Yes you have to play in two different regions to get the award but it is still difficult. The Worlds is the best tournament of the year with the most teams and if you think playing a one game winner take all is easy you are sorely mistaken. So, the Triple Grand Slam is a darn good accomplishment that I will remember for ever in spite of what Gary19 has to say. |
