senior softball bat
should I swing a senior softball bat according to my body weight and bat speed or strength to get maximum output from the bat with out it cracking too soon, because every senior bat that I am swinging is only lasting about 25 swings

You are going to want to stay away from all senior bats. The new Dudley Lightning may give you more swings before it explodes. Your best bet would be to get a UTRIP/NSA bat to swing.

Find a bat you like in the Senior's and then get a USSSA bat that is as close to the senior model as possible. Keep the Senior bat in your bat bag for games and the USSSA bat for BP.

The heavier bats seem to lst the longest in the Senior models. 29oz and 30oz.

I have found this to be true also. Are the heavier bats thicker walled which adds to their longevity?

It has been stated here the walls are all the same thickness. The diff is the rod in handle that makes the difference in weight.

The reason heavier bats (30oz) last longer is your swing speed is probably slower then say with a 26oz.

Thanks Crusher, now that you mention it I remember that now. And I'm sure anybody's swing is slower with the heavier bat, no matter how big a brut you are.

Twintower: I swing a Demarini The One 30oz. endloaded and it has lasted me a pretty decent time. 4/5 tournaments. Before that other senior bats were breaking in 25-50 swings. The key is to not use it for BP sessions. I played with your brother last year with Monsta in 40s.

You don't always swing a heavier bat slower. If you are strong you may swing the same model at the same speed at the lower weights and only fall off bat speed at the higher or highest weight. Theoretically and assuming all else is equal, you should use the heaviest bat until the next higher weight caused a decrease of bat speed.

Try the new NIGHTMARE, it seems to have a feel of a bat that will last, heard as manny as 3000 swings. Mine has 200 plus and feels very good.

A year ago there was a thread about the Miken Triad Blackout. A very durable senior bat that some power hitters in the St. G area were up to 6-700 hits before it felt good. Not a power hitter, but it's a great BP bat for me.
