We are planning to go to it this year and wanted to make sure it was worth are while . Thanks for any answers, Rabbit, coach of the

Hello, my friend. We went once, and this tournament kept us from playing SPA for a couple years. They told us when we got there that we were a strong AAA team and made us play the Major teams and about killed us. SPA insisted that we were a strong AAA team since we played in the Columbus, IN tournament and had to play the Indiana Legends even though we lost. SPA would not budge on the rating, but fortunately for us SSWC looked at our team more objectively and had us reclassified as AA where we belong. The complex was nice, but they stuck us with the major teams in the back; so I am not sure how many were actually in AA and AAA. There were six teams in the division that we were in. It was definitely very hot that weekend. Ed's team went a couple of years before us. Good luck in your travels. My guys play tonight at 7:30 at Shelbyville if you are passing through.

Hi Nancy, thanks for answering, but we have all ready sent our money in for this tourney, it does matter to my team who we play also, but still in our minds we would rather play the good teams anyway, it will make us a better team playing them, you do not get any better playing the weaker teams, but i do understand that teams want a chance to win ( I do ), but it is not always about winning, we play as many tourneys as we can so,for the at bats and it gives me a chance to see what our weaknesses are, by doing this it will help us win in the Nationals in Plano in Sept ( our main goal) ,we will also be playing in Manassa,ISSA World in August and in n Boaz,Alabama in the NSA National,So I hope there are lot of 50+ teams deciding to come to the SPA Tourney in Johnson City on July 9-10-11,In my opinion SPA are the best run tourneys and the fairest ones. What is the use to have a traveling team that doesnt want to travel?? see you there. Rabbit, Coach of Indiana Classics 50 AAA, Greensburg, Indiana

Nancy good luck to The Fog, hope the rest of your season is successful, your friend, Rabbit

Rabbit, I could not agree with you more. I only hope that they place you correctly, and I am sure that they will. Remind me to tell you about some of Ed's players' adventure not involving softball. The best of luck to you and yours, and I hope to see you soon.

As of late last week, they already had 6 teams interested in playing in this tourney with a still month to go,JUly 9-10-11, so some you AAA teams want to play some good ball teams, you still have time to enter this SPA qualifier,he does not alow major and major plus teams, thats what he told me, you can call Tom Williams at 423-929-3353 for more info and to enter the tourney,You might wonder why I am pushing this tourney, I am just tired of going to tourneys and there are only 4 or 5 teams in them, we want to play different teams and not the sames ones week after week , The Indiana Classics will be there for sure, hope to see some new blood there this year, Thanks, Rabbit

I haven't played in the Johnson City tournament in three or four years. The last time we played, we were a AAA team and had to face the Carolina Cobras, a Major team I think. We beat them once but they came back for revenge and killed us in the next game. The last two years Johnson City was too far for our Floriday players to travel and this year we chose not to play there.
I will be close by, watching the Smoky Mtn. Classic in Maryville. This will be the third year that I have attended the Classic. As a "youngster" I played in it in 1983.

Hi Bruce, nice to hear from you, you probably dont remember me, we met down at Gadsden
at the NSA worls last year? we last played in JohnsonCity in 2002, finished third behind Riverside paving and the Caorlina cobra's, but he does not allow the major or major plus teams anymore,so it should be an even tourney with all the AAA teams that should be coming to it.
By the way, what ever happen to the Carolina Cobra's and the Pittsburg Gold, do you remember them, they were very good 50 teams when i started playing senoir ball? see ya down the road, Rabbit

Some of the Carolina Cobras have combined with Winky and some of the guys from Faith. They are now called County Wide, playing 55+. They are a very strong team and probably will be major plus.

I just called Tom Williams at 423-929-3353 and he told me there will be enough teams in 50's and 55's for his tourney, but he wanted me to post that he is still wanting more teams if possible, the dealine is July 3rd, so you still have time to send in the teams entry fee of $285.00, he said they will play 3 seed games and a double elimanation ,so everyone will get at least
five games,This is a SPA Tourney, will be a good one to get some swings in before the NSA Worlds two weeks later, in which we will be in also, hope to see a lot of teams down in Boaz, Alabama on July 29-30-31, I will be posting something on that tourney later, I am doing this just to get teams to enter these tourneys,it seems there are a lot of senoir teams, but I dont see them entering very many tourneys, it is always the same ones, would like to play different teams,Thanks, Rabbit, Indiana CLassics AAA 50's
