My 29el has one that is about 3/16" by 1/2". It runs parallel to the sides of the bat so it should be ok.

SOFTBALLER & BRUCE: When I 1st got my Senior Combat, Kevin, @ Anaconda, told me the follow': The SENIOR COMBAT, has an auto enamal paint. This is why one will get spyder cracks & the paint fleaks off. The bat, will 'flex' & the paint will not be able to stand this "stress".

I have a few chips on my 30 oz E.L. All this means is that ones bat is broken in.

GOOD LUCK.............The STONEMAN......

you are just a masher, there not a bat that will with stand your swing. you have to go back to the bats of the 90's.

I believe that there's a fine line between crushin a softball and crushin a bat...I try to hit/cut the ball well and let the bat's flex take it from there...Hitting too hard overcomes the bats flex point to the point of failure...Kinda like just swingin eazy in BP and outa nowhere U absolutely launch one way gone effortlessly-That's the line I'm takin about...Course if I Had a endless supply of bats I would try and break every stinkin one of them every stinking time !!

Ok, while we are on this subject. It's a urethane single or double stage paint similar to a coat on an automobile.

Questions:

1- As the composition of the bat is of a porous material and many people play in high humidity and/or wet weather will this cause vunerability in the bat affecting the life span or performance? Have tests been run on this to find out given the "chunk out" paint problems that does not seem to be appearing in any of the other comosites. It stands to reason that for many factors this might be an adverse development in a product that is gaining rapid acceptance on the senior level.

2- If the paint is as indicated is there any automotive of other application "touch up" type of paint which will help to protect the bat and the bats appearance? The last thing we need is for officials to see paint coming off of ANY bat.

Interesting thoughts about paint and porosity.
You and Bash are the Ph.D's of Senior softball, no doubt.
But I would take a rough looking, loud.and lethal bat like the Combat over a perfect looking bat but quiet bat
any day.
I have a Synergy CNT which has paint coming off it too
and after 600 or so swings is finally getting hot and I like it just fine.
