Congratulations SSUSA.
Specifically, Fran and Dave Dowell for the great tournament
this weekend in Reno.
I've never had a better time at a Senior event, yet.

The umpires did a terrific job under a very heavy load of games
in 90 degree heat.
The concession guys/gals were courteous and cute (the girls, anyhow)
and the burgers were excellent.
The decision to put us in Carson City was right on.
The best fields for the best level players, isolated from everything/everyone else
with a beautiful backdrop of the high desert, mountains and sky.

I met Bashbro and he's just a gem of a guy
who both hits and talks bigger than his frame.
Bash, you're playing with one of the finest
player/competitors in Senior Softball and
I'm proud to say a friend of mine,
the Bear, himself.
We spent the first year together in 55's playing in the same infield for the Old A's.
See you in September, in Seattle, both of you.

The Stoneman, Stephen Stone in person, suited up with ODB in the majors
played well, hit some bombs and made a bunch of new friends.

I got to hit BP with Kevin from Anaconda one night.
Kevin hits the ball as well as anyone I've ever seen/played with,
including guys like Bobby Newman, Mike Burbank and Bull Kramer.
And just as impressively, he's down to earth and a great guy.

The Old A's I played with were impressive to a man
showing grit and heart as we came back from losing the first game
in the finals to win the championship.
Those old dogs can still hunt.

What lingers after a tournament like this
is just how many guys/players are glad to see each other
year after year with me at the top of that list.
The Senior softball community is alive and well, I'm happy to say
with no small thanks to Fran and Dave and all the SSUSA staff
who, at Centennial Park in Carson City,
put on a terrific event.

Joe,
Thanks for the compliments but those are some heavy hitters you compare me to. I just love the game and almost all of the people that are around it. As i said in Stoney's post I am fortunate have a job that allows me to do all of things I do. I would like to thank the Stote family for employing me, ss-usa for partnering with anaconda sports, Terry, Frannie, Dave and all of the staff for allowing us to have the sucesses to continue to do these events that I get to have some fun at. Lastly I want to also thank all of the sponsors of ss-usa Miken, Easton. Demarini, Combat, Tanel and any others that I may have forgotten for their envolvment in the program.

Hey Kevin,
I already let Bogie know how much of a monster you are with the bat
so he will look forward to getting you on the video.
Again, without intent to blow any smoke up anyone's behind
the Reno/Carson City tournament last weekend was a gas.
Thanks again to everyone involved.
