Team Ratings
The new team ratings are out. There is a team I played for 4 years ago which broke up and is still rated. I was wondering how many other teams have been disbanded or renamed and not eliminated from the list. In order to be rated shouldn't a team need to play in a qualifier more recently than 4 years ago?

OH I LOVE THESE TEAM RATINGS!!
YOUR RIGHT THERE ARE TEAMS THAT ARE NO LONGER PLAYING TOGETHER OR THAT HAVE CHANGED NAMES WITH A FEW NEW PLAYERS!
SO WHY DON'T THE ASSOCIATION REMOVE THOSE THAT DIDN'T QUALIFY THIS YEAR?
I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE UPDATED EACH YEAR! WHY PUT OUT NEW RATINGS IF IT IS THE SAME AS LAST YEAR.
JUST AN OPINION!

Sticks, I believe there are links to the rating committee on their board.
They have requested anyone that knows of teams that no longer exist to contact them.
With all the teams you know about, it would really help to start a clean up of the ratings.
Much appreciated.

Crusher,
If you go to the site to try to eliminate a team It directs you to fill out a multi-page form to dispute a team ranking. I want to do something simple by informing them of a team that hasn't played a tournament in almost 4 years and they want me to fill out a 4 page form. They don't make it easy. Maybe they want to try to give the impression there are more teams out there. I don't know.

I was looking over the 50 rating list and the folowing teams are no longer playing,The Columbus AtheniansAA ,Columbus,Ind
Dog HouseSaloon,Evansville,Ind.
Roof Concepts AAA is now a 55 team,
True Blue Fence is no more, they now play with part,Indiana Legends, Dixon Softball, Riverside Paving 50's and now are known as Direct Hire.in some circles.
The following teams should be rated at least AAA Brickyard Bombers,Indianapolis
Dayton legends, Dayton, Ohio,
OG'S out of Louisville,Ky
Zepplin,Louisville,Ky are close to AAA.
The Following teams are rated AAA, but should be major in my opinion.

Jackson Merchants, Michigan Center, Michigan, are now known as Orthopaedic Rehab, they won the Indianapoilis SSWC tourney going away, Dayton legends, Finished second.
Ft.Smith Steelers, look like a major team to me. from last year
Thats about all i have seen so far this yearthat are on the list.
I think if everyone in each stae would drop a line on this site, maybe the powers to be might happen to look at them and finally delete the teams that are not playing and really take a hard look at the teams, we think they should be rate highter and finally do something abouit it. Thanks, Rabbit

I just noticed that the rating board states the ratings are the final ones for 2004, why so soon, we have just played in 2 Tourneys, will be playing this weekend, up north here we dont get to start playing till late April and that is a push, and now we are just now getting into the meat of the schedule and final raings are out already? is the rating board just for the teams out west, southwest and south that get to play all year long ??? maybe that is why they dont know who is who, like someone said, how can the final ratings come out when they didnt change anything or drop any teams, What is the answer,??? Rabbit,

Rabbit, the ratings are usually put out June 15 (or so) each year.
If a team thinks they are rated incorrectly, that team can file a request (online form) to be re-rated. Teams do that sometimes when 5 or 6 players leave or move up in age, etc.
I have known of several teams being re-rated to a lower level.

Haven't seeen the rankings yet but I believe that the Dayton Legends are not a AAA club yet. We have played a total of 9 games and we are currently 6-3 and 2 of those wins were by forfeit (Indy) so we could be 5-4 or worse. So as far as saying we are a AAA club, NOPE not yet. We are only a 1st year club at the 50's, we were a combined club lat year and we were 10-19 for the season. We haven't WON anything yet so before you move us up let us at least try and win something. Also, don't forget the 2nd Annual Dayton Legends Softball Club tournament to be played at Kettering Fields, Dayton, Oh on the 3/4 July. This is a 5 game guarantee in all age groups 50 and above. If interested call Danny at 937-258-8544. Thanks and have agreat day. Danny
