Posted | Discussion |
June 1 VegasBob 66 posts | I noticed that this week's tournament in Flagstaff is accepting teams utilizing players younger than their age bracket without being an exhibition team. Is this a new rule? |
June 2 DaveDowell Men's 70 4322 posts | Bob ... There have been NO SSUSA Official Rules changes since the January meeting of the National Rules Committee ... The current Rulebook is available electronically from this website and also available in a new printed version ... Good luck ... |
June 2 HSquared Men's 60 147 posts | VegasBob... Are you implying (example) that 50 or 55 yr olds are being "allowed" to play in the 60 division? Likewise, 60 yr olds, playing in the 65 division? |
June 2 VegasBob 66 posts | I'm sorry but I neglected to say this is being applied to the 70's division which I thought couldn't use underage players. |
June 2 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | When there are mixed divisions, Rick tries to do his best to allow everyone to play. If you know for sure someone is trying to pull a fast one, just let him know. |
June 2 VegasBob 66 posts | HSquared, yes, I know for a fact that underaged players are being allowed to play for 70+ and below without being an exhibition team. I do realize there are age exemptions for teams 75+ and above. This is an SSUSA Qualifier and not a recreational tournament. I only ask about this because it seems to not be in line with Rule 13.2(4)B, and I would like to know if teams I am on in the future get the same exemption. |
June 2 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | which team |
June 3 VegasBob 66 posts | softball4b: I won't mention any teams as it may look like I have an agenda here, which I don't, but it is a fact. |
June 3 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | If no agenda then not worth mentioning. IMO |
