Good bats....trampoline....choice....
The coined "trampoline effect" was used by bat makers long ago. That phrase is still used to some extent.
If others, as I do, prefer a bat that has more pop or the trampoline effect, so what, we made our choice, and any one out there is allowed to make their choice, given the perameters for that event.
I do not see where ones choice make or should make a case for an argument.
Don't like them, Don't use them. but please do not complain because someone is. You know their out there, you also could use one, if you wanted to. Just borrow or buy one.
But I'm also very sure something negative will be said for this as well.
Maybe the western "Have gun will travel" could be remade into a softball movie "Have senior bat, will hit & travel with" ... Call the team Paliden. lol

A soldier of fortune is a man called, Palladin.
Palladin, Palladin.

Well, since you asked. :)

Use whatever is legal, I do, I have no problems with that. But my two thoughts are (a) I don't complain when Senior bats are not legal, and would not quit playing if they were banned, and (b) I don't brag about how far or hard I can hit a ball with a bat that no one under 50 is even allowed to use. You know, the dunking with a trampoline thing.

One of my many hobbies is custom picture framing. About 4 years ago I decided to collect pictures and autographs of the western tv stars from the 50's and 60's. I have many of their pictures and some autographs. The two that I have finished to date (I never said that I was fast) is Sugarfoot (Will Hutchins) and Annie Oakley (Gail Davis). I looks like I will have trouble finding an inexpensive autograph of Steve McQueen.
Maybe after softball season this fall I can resume my quest.

We did a good job of hyjacking this thread.:)

Bruce, hijacking seems okay as long as it is done by the "in crowd" and not allegedly by me.

Let's start a trivia thread for those of us who are tired about reading about how many swings a bat has before breaking. Only those interested need read it!

TNG,
I started the thread and added the western "idea" to the bat thing. and in doing so, as with a lot of threads, sometimes, someone goes astray. I've done it.
For me, so what, it's a community of thoughts of all sorts. Some here don't like detours, that's all.
So what's your western....lol

How many Mavrick brothers were there. What were their names and who played them.

Ok Bruce.... Lets try Bret.... played by James Garner
Brent played by Robert Colbert, Bart played by Jack Kelly and, of course, the often forgetten Beau played by Roger Moore.................
My question... Who played Sugarfoot? Yeah, Woody, if you are reading this I had to have some mention of a food product...

docswear- I give you an A+ for the three brothers, but you lose extra credit points for Beau(regard). He was a cousin and not a brother. Well done!

Will Hutchins was Tom "Sugarfoot" Brewster in the Western by the same name.

I agree with you Dbax, we need a break from the usual posts.

Bruce , you mentioned Steve McQueen."Wanted Dead or Alive" was one of the best westerns ever and he was one of the best actors ever. Let's not forget Charles Bronson in " How the West was Won" . Man this is fun!!! Oh yea, the first TV show I ever saw was "Hoppa Long Cassidy" but I don't remember who played him. Can anyone help?

You guys have mentioned almost all of the Sunday Night rotating westerns. Yet none of you asked about Bronco Lane (no, not where OJ parks his SUV) nor Cheyenne (the man, not the town)... Ty Hardin and Clint Walker. Why not?
DBAX:
did you forget to include Amanda Blake (Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke) in your list of prominent TV women? She was one of my favorites, along with Honey Bee and Donna Douglas (Ellie Mae Clampett). Wasn't real keen on Jane Hathaway, Tugboat Annie or Schultzie (Love That Bob)...

Bruce,

I have a picture of myself with Fess Parker taken at his hotel/restaurant in Los Olivos, CA. I was walking in to have dinner with some friends and he was sitting on the porch with someone having coffee. When we left he was still sitting there, but alone, and I asked him if he would mind having a picture taken with me and he said “no problem”. We talked for a few minutes. Great guy.
