Sept. 24 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Ken, you are up. You beat me by a second! |
Sept. 24 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Lol. OK, what was the name of Mike Nelson's boat on Sea Hunt? |
Sept. 24 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Another great question. I know it starred Lloyd Bridges. |
Sept. 24 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | A classic after school treat.... the name of the boat was the Argonaut, I believe. Wish I could remember to pick up stuff for the wife on the way home from work like I can remember this old tv stuff..... docswear |
Sept. 24 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Bingo, we have a winner. Good job Doc, you're up. |
Sept. 24 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | One of my all-time favorite actors played a great part in the old Cheyenne series... This "Wide-eyed" characters part in the series was Toothy Thompson... For the key to the outhouse and two broken Miken Ultras, name this man. good luck.... docswear |
Sept. 24 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Docswear, I like this guy too. I had to Google the answer, and he was in Sugarfoot, not Cheyenne. |
Sept. 24 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | D-Bax.... you are probably right. Now that I think about it, he was in a movie with the guy that played Cheyene ... That movie was "Night of the Grizzly".. I may have found a way to stump you guys. Ask questions that have no answers.. Sorry... as my grandkids say...my bad.. docswear |
Sept. 24 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Sugar Foot was played by Will Hutchins, I think. |
Sept. 24 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | I re-read the question and you said he was IN Sugarfoot. I bet you mean Jack Elam. Wide Eyed is right, lol. |
Sept. 25 Leoslocks Men's 60 45 posts | While we await the response, some TV Commercial trivia. Who was this quote spoken to and what was his response? "Your money or your life!" |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Jack Benny? And I think his response "I'm thinking". |
Sept. 25 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | sorry I was gone so long.... Ken.... you are right.... Jack elam... the old wandering eye.. docswear |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Ok, let's try this one. There was a show about some LA area Fire Dept. guys who were responsible for saving people in all types of trouble. Name the series. |
Sept. 25 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | would this be 'Rescue 8'?BW |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | By the way, I have a friend who actually knew Jack Elam, lol. |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Yeah, Rescue 8. Nice job, you're up Wood. |
Sept. 25 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Ken, keep the floor if you will. My parents wouldn't let me play with Doc Swear when I was a kid and I'd hate to disappoint them now. I thought that Jack Elam had squinty eyes (right center/left center field eyes, too) or I would have guessed him earlier. Now you guys can see why Doc was taboo. :-) BW |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Let’s try this one. There was a show about supernatural stories, before the Twilight Zone, hosted by John Newland. Name the show. |
Sept. 25 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Outer Limits? |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Nope, earlier than that. It was only on for 30 min. and was pretty creepy, lol. And the stories didn't always end up nice. The host, John Newland, looked a little like a young Peter Cushing. |
Sept. 25 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Science Fiction Theater? |
Sept. 25 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | Woody... I read your post regarding your mother not allowing you to play with me when we were kids. She just knew how disappointed you got whenever you were bested and decided it safer to have you play with your dogs cause you were a bit smarter than them..Of course she had to hang that pork chop around your neck so the dogs would play with you..(<: Ken... was it One Step Beyond or something like that? docswear. |
Sept. 25 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Doc: you jumped on that one. :-) Nice knowing it was always the fat kid that was eliminated first in dodge ball. But this gave you time to go get us a coke. I think that you might be right on the TV q. See you manana... :-) |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | You got it, One Step Beyond. One of my favorites. Ok, you're up. |
Sept. 25 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | Ok, lets see... How about a little mickey mouse club western theme.... Spin and Marty had a little annoying kid always hanging around them.. Moochie was his name on the show. Who played him??? good luck.., docswear |
Sept. 25 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Don't know his name but he was the same kid in Old Yeller. |
Sept. 25 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Tommy ***************? |
Sept. 25 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Tommy Kirk was in Old Yeller.........I really did not know the answer to the first question w/o the clue |
Sept. 25 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Not him, but his younger brother. |
Sept. 25 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Of course ......... Captain Kirk ! |
Sept. 25 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Not hardly! While we are waiting for the answer, copy and paste this........................ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3DpPSMS14A |
Sept. 25 pressguy33 39 posts | The answer to Ken's question about the LA area fire dept could be Emergency. A show in the 70's. |
Sept. 25 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | All of the shows we have been talking about are from the 50's and 60's. That would rule out Emergency. Rescure 8 was the answer. |
Sept. 25 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | I'm going to take a wild guess based on the fact that I know this kid was under contract to Disney and it would kind of come under the wow factor - Kurt Russell The only 3 guys names I could think of that played in those early shows were the 2 I mentioned and a Tim Matheson name pops into my brain. Not sure that's the valid basis for a guess but the silence is kind of deafening. |
Sept. 25 Duke Men's 65 908 posts | Ken- You work as much as I do. LOL! |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Hey guys, just passing throught again. I think we all watched too much TV growing up. However, my family did not have one until I was six in 1955. Worked hard to catch up though. Anyway, Moochie was Kevin Corcoran. I barged in the other day and asked a question about Jock Mahoney. He played Yancey Derringer. What was the name of Yancey's Indian partner? |
Sept. 26 dmike13 Men's 60 28 posts | Moochie was paled by kevin corcoran. |
Sept. 26 dmike13 Men's 60 28 posts | sorry about the spelling. played i believe is the correct spelling not paled. |
Sept. 26 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Southpaw got it right just before you dmike13. He has the current question. |
Sept. 26 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | Southpaw and DMike13...great job!! sorry I was off site for so long but as has been confirmed... Moochie was played by Kevin Corcoran.. Thought I might stump you guys but I guess we all watched way too much kid television when we were young. docswear |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Yeah, with my coonskin cap on, lol. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Hey guys, cannot ever stay on too long--other irons in the fire. Does anyone know the answer to my query about the name of Yancey Derringer's Indian partner? If not, 2 of 3 Warner Bros. trio of westerns on Friday nights have already been mentioned: Cheyenne and Sugar Foot. What was the third? And who played the title character? |
Sept. 26 Leoslocks Men's 60 45 posts | Cheyenne ... Sugar Foot and Maverick (James Garner) |
Sept. 26 Leoslocks Men's 60 45 posts | Cheyenne ... Sugar Foot and Maverick (James Garner) |
Sept. 26 Leoslocks Men's 60 45 posts | This is the second time a double post happens while trying to Refresh a page. Excuse me for not learning. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Hey guys, I don't think Maverick is the correct answer--I think it was separate, at least at first. Anyway, that is not what I had in mind. Perhaps I am wrong. Here's a hint: Ty Hardin played the title character. |
Sept. 26 Leoslocks Men's 60 45 posts | I can almost recite the theme songs for Sugar Foot and Cheyenne. For the life of me I can not pull up the missing piece of this trilogy. Have Gun, Will Travel (Palladin) was another favorite show growing up. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Hey Leo, It was Cheyenne, Sugarfoot and Bronco Lane, starring Ty Hardin. Another: Dale Robertson starred in what western? He later replaced a rather famous person as narrator on Death Valley Days. Western and Narrator? |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | How about Bronco Lane with Ty Hardin. I think Tab Hunter was in something around that time |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | oops, sorry. Did not know anyone was on right now. I jumped the gun and answered my own question! Ken replied at the same time. Congratulations. |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Ronald Reagan was the narrator on Death Valley Days, but I don't know if he was first or last. Robertson played on a show about the railroad I think. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | Hey Ken, you have the floor; I have to sign off in a bit. The answer to my earlier question about Yancey Derringer's Indian partner: Pahoo. see you guys; play ball; have fun; life is short; eternity is just around the corner--my prayer is that everyone is prepared. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | You are right Ken. Dale did come after RR. Dale's western was "Tales of _______ _______". But again, I have butted in, you have the floor and the question to pose. |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | OK, this is an easy one. This show was about a marshall who wore an odd hat. It had a flat brim, almost like a flamenco dancers, lol. And he was loooong on pistols. |
Sept. 26 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Bat Masterson? |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Nope. Masterson wore a hat that looked like a derby, I think. This is flat-brimmed and flat on top. I don't remember any one else wearing one like it. This was a popular show in it's day. Again, he was looooong on pistols. |
Sept. 26 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | I am guessing that it was Wyatt Earp with the Buntline special, long-barrelled six-gun. |
Sept. 26 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Right you are. I was hoping the gun clue would help. You're up. |
Sept. 27 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | hey guys, are we still playing. Had to leave yesterday for church. Another Ty Hardin question: He was one of the stars in a WWII movie that included the actor who played the kindly old uncle in the first Spider-Man movie. What is the name of the WWII movie? |
Sept. 27 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Southpaw, we are still playing. We've been waiting for your question. But this is TV Trivia. We will do movies and music later. |
Sept. 27 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | The name of the movie was PT109 |
Sept. 27 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | sorry for the delay in returning guys. I have just sorta have to pop in and out for a few minutes at a time. Sorry, also, that I jumped subjects, however, the correct answer was given for my movie question. It was PT109 starring Cliff Robertson, who played JFK. I will defer to the winner for another TV question. thanks, this is much more enjoyable than all the squabbling. |
Sept. 27 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | GDR24, are you there? If so, I will defer to you. |
Sept. 27 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | This is alot more fun than the squabbling. On my way to Vegas. Keep this going. Remember the rules. Be back Sunday night. Good luck. GDR24, the floor is yours. |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | What was the name of the jeep that Pete drove on the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans show and what was the name of their dog |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Nelliebell was the jeep, don't know the name of the dog. |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | Bruce: Correct on the jeep |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | It just came to me, Bullett was the name of their dog! |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | Bruce: Ding Ding Ding you win the floor is yours |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | Bruce: Ding Ding Ding you win the floor is yours |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | It just came to me, Bullett was the name of their dog! |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Ok, what tv actor also played professional baseball in 1950. He starred in a tv western. I'll even tell you his first three names, Kevin Joseph Aloysius _________. I guess he had two middle names. |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Ok, what tv actor also played professional baseball in 1950. He starred in a tv western. I'll even tell you his first three names, Kevin Joseph Aloysius _________. I guess he had two middle names. |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Ok, what tv actor also played professional baseball in 1950. He starred in a tv western. I'll even tell you his first three names, Kevin Joseph Aloysius _________. I guess he had two middle names. |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | The Rifleman Chuck Connors, I believe he had a cup of coffee with the Dodgers |
Sept. 28 AlleninGa Men's 60 113 posts | And he was "Branded". I never had a broken sword but I did have a "Rifleman" winchester as a kid. Wasn't he Marcus McCane in the series? I don't remember the "Branded" character's name. |
Sept. 28 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | He was Jason Mc Cord, can you name his horse |
Sept. 28 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | "What do you do when you're branded, do you fight for your name???"" I totally forgot about that series. One of my favorites. Old Chuck just kinda cruised around the country trying to prove he was not a chicken... Only because my brother was a horse nut do I remember his name. Domino, I believe. Can't remember to trim my nose hairs but sure can remember useless stuff.. docswear |
Sept. 28 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Allen, he was Lucas McCain in the Rifleman. |
Sept. 28 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | He also played basketball for the Celtics. I played on a team with his son, Steve, 25 years ago. He was a big dude, too. In the Rifleman series his son's name was Mark McCain. Doc, I thought westerns were out of your realm of interest as you seemed to prefer science fiction. BW |
Sept. 28 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | Woody... I actually prefer science fiction westerns.. series like "Hoss vs Godzilla" and "Flying Saucer Train" were my favorites. Any guess on this one.... What was the kids name that followed Rin Tin Tin around in the old series The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin?? I know you'll remember Lt. Masterson because he was a dead ringer for you, but what was the kids name? ntty docswear |
Sept. 28 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | I'm a little RUSTY on that show... so give me a hint, if you would be so kind. BW |
Sept. 28 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | Great Job.... you are up.... try to stump the stars.. By the way.... that was Lt. Masters....... Not.. Lt. Masterson... too much salad this week... docswear |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | GDR24 is correct. He has the floor. Do you want the name of his horse or another question? |
Sept. 28 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | So, I guess that it's my turn. how about this one... we were talking about the Rifleman series... what was the full name of the sheriff? his last name is also the name of a city in California, although there are many. Stew on this one, Big Boy! :-) BW |
Sept. 28 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | My fault! I thought that Doc had the floor after naming the horse? I'll remove my question from the floor. BW |
Sept. 28 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | GDR24, Bruce.... sorry... I jumped the gun... Got excited thinking I knew the name of the Horse (Domino) ... and asked another question without knowing if I was right or not. My fault... docswear |
Sept. 28 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | That's alright Docswear, there's nothing wrong with being excited about something! |
Sept. 28 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Doc, like a smorgasbord, you have to wait your turn. ;-) |
Sept. 28 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Mica |
Sept. 28 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Full name was Micah Torrance |
Sept. 29 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Correct-a-mundo... |
Sept. 29 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | So, whose turn is it anyway? Did Doc answer GDR’s question (Domino) correctly? And then did Woody answer him? GDR, I guess we need to know if Domino was right. |
Sept. 29 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Ken, no one has offiicially told us if Doc was right or not. I really didn't know the name of the horse but the smart money is on Doc... unless you're taking the under in his daily caloric intake. Either way, we haven't heard from GDR so the floor should be yours, A guy is either on the game or he isn't. That's why I didn't take the floor on your q the other day (Rescue 8)... I wasn't able to preside. BW |
Sept. 30 GDR24 Men's 50 13 posts | Sorry, was away for the weekend, Doc was right about the horse |
Sept. 30 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Ok, Doc was right, Woody answered his question, and I answered Woody. I think I’m up. Give the name of the character on Circus Boy, and also the actor who played his uncle, the clown. (Circus Boy was played by a kid famous for something else) By the way, if I’m wrong about it being my turn, please excuse the question, and I retract it. |
Sept. 30 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Circus Boy was played by Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees. His character name was Corky. Ken, you stated the correct sequence of events so you need not withdraw your question. BW |
Oct. 1 dmike13 Men's 60 28 posts | I think the answer to the Dale Robertson question was "tales of Wells Fargo. Wyatt Earp was played by Hugh O'Brian. THANKYOU. |
Oct. 1 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Noah Beery played the clown. |
Oct. 1 Ken Men's 55 462 posts | Woody answered the Corky part and Pete had the Noah Beery (Jr) part. I don’t know who has the floor. |
Oct. 1 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Let Pete have the floor... BW |
Oct. 1 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | This is coming at you from the Vegas airport so I can't check the answers until after I get back home (SFO). We'll stay within the western genre here but with a little twist. Micheal Ansera played an American indian in 2 TV series (along with bopping Barbara Eden when he got home/lucky guy), what was the name of the 2 series? |
Oct. 1 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Cochise and I Dream of Genie... |
Oct. 1 docswear Men's 55 99 posts | PeteD... seems to me that the series name was Broken Arrow that he played Cochise in and the other series was something like The Plainsman...got the second one from a patient sitting in the exam chair that is an american indian. Much to my surprise, he informed me that he (Michael Ansera) actually was not an american indian at all.. Not sure if he knew what he was talking about but he's a big guy with no sense of humor so I figured I wouldn't argue the point. Hope you enjoyed yourself in Vegas. docswear |
Oct. 1 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | Damn, Doc, you got me again... you know, for a guy that can't show up for BP, you do seem to have a lot of answers elsewhere.:-) BW |
Oct. 1 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Ding ding ding - we have a winner Doc the floor is yours. The name of the show was the Law of the Plainsman along with Broken Arrow. What happens in Vegas is still staying in Vegas - overbooked flight and waiting for the next one. Yawn |
Oct. 1 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Might want to start a TV trivia 3 so we don't wear out our welcome taking up the entire fron page. |
