Oct. 30 fourfiveslot 2 posts | Hi. I am the special events coordinator in Warrenton, MO. We are located about 40 miles west of St. Louis. I am interested in putting together a local 50+ team and getting them registered with ASA. We would use our new fourplex to host an ASA tournament. I noticed that most of the tournament are played in warmer climates. Do you think I would get enough interest in Missouri, during a warmer month? |

Will he go by "senor rules" or ASA. That includes bat use, as well. In CA where I'm at, we only have one commish, I know of, that has senior insight. But that took some time to work out. IMO, research all this before going whith them. By reading the post here on this forum you can see rules and bats that we use. My biggest pive with ASA is that the ASA rule book is not geared towared seniors at all. And the book is actually for Chanmionship Play (those tournaments that lead to a state or national title) not local events or leagues. It's a guide, for others, not something set in stone. |
Oct. 30 slomo 47 posts | fourfiveslot, there is an established senior league in the STL area. Yes! we would love to have another tourney in the local area. We've had the ISA Senior Nationals the last two years at the new complex in Bridgeton. I think it may grow. But that is the ONLY senior tourney here. If you would like to consider hosting one please leave a contact # or e-mail and I'll get in touch. |
Nov. 1 MTaylor34 Men's 65 27 posts | fourfiveslot, I have a team in Springfield, MO and we would be interested in coming to a tournament in the St. Louis area. Again leave your phone # or an email address and I will contact you. Could probably help get some teams out of Kansas City as well. |
Nov. 2 Brett Men's 55 239 posts | fourfiveslot: I manage a 50+ AAA tournament team in Kansas City. We would be interested only if the tournament complied with SPA or SSUSA bat rules. ASA bat rules are too restricitve. I seriously doubt if you would draw any teams if we had to abide by ASA bat rules. |
