After an awful lot of deliberation, GSF has made the decision to move into the 60 division in 2008. We now know how Turn Two, Texas and the Old As fel as it relas to the difficulty of such a choice.
It isn't as though all of our guys were able to move with us. This was true of the other teams as well but it's just a lot more personal when it's us. We will be forever grateful to Randy G, Randy F, Barry, Tom, Dave, Ron, Roland, Bob L, Bamm, Alvin, John and Joe... oh, did I forget Ray? not in a million year would we do that. Conway, Jerry ,Billy, Mack and I will miss every one of you guys and this has made our decision really difficult. But it is the right choice... we are confident of this. The top subversive thoughts from this experience will be the Midget M.F., the two fat B.C. and i believe that I forgot the other one... hence the move to the 60s. We hope to see all of you catch up with us again. You are all class acts!
We will also miss the battles with MTC, Hollis, Grimes, OLR, Ruth Realty, IN and CT... We will also miss the camaraderie and good fellowship... without which, why would we still do this?
We will look forward to seeing Turn Two, Old A's, Boaz, FL, MTC 60, Ruth, Scrap Iron and all of the other 60 major + teams. We hope that all of the 60 teams will be forthright in stating their intended whereabouts in '08. We will be called GSF and will likely be in a rebuilding mode... so try not to discourage us from playing in the upper division, :-)

I must admit that you guys are a class act. The 55 major plus will be losing some great competitors but the 60 major plus will be better. It is always fun to be the "young guns" again. I know from my buddy, Ed Rose of the Raptors from Florida, that the 60 major plus is loaded with great players, big home run power and fantastic people. You guys will do well as teams that play as teams win their share. Good luck and we will see you at several tournaments next year!

Bob-
Let me welcome GSF to the 60s! We (Boaz Export Crating/ASI) will look for some very competitive games next season with you guys!

As soon as our sponsors let us know our playing schedule, I'll let everyone know.

Right now, we've shut it down for 2007 due to injuries.

To all my softball friends, have a safe and happy offseason and let's get it on again next Spring! LL

Welcome to the GSF guys moving up next year from the 55’s Major Plus competition to the 60’s Major Plus! I did a quick extract from the SSUSA team ratings page for 60’s M+ and captured the list below. I added GSF to the mix in the alphabetical sort. I do believe that some of the info is out of date just from a quick perusal of the data.

BASHBRO......NICE WORK, BUT 3, 5 & 6 ARE THE SAME TEAM. SCRATCH THE KIDZ, AND I DO BELEIVE THE FARM IS REVAMPING. I HEARD MTC WILL BE NEW AND VERY STRONG. I THINK SOME OF THE TEAMS THAT WERE MAJOR LAST YEAR WILL BE DISBANDING BECAUSE IN 2008 THEY WILL BE MOVED UP TO MAJOR PLUS.

Crusader-What is happening with the Kidz? I knew they were the same team as Tharaldson's on Bashbro's list but did not know they weren't coming back next year. Perhaps under a new sponsorship?

In any event, to further pare down the list Boaz Exports/ASI is the old Hendricks Sports and Texas Ironmen teams so they are also gone. LL

Guys, thanks for your input regarding the data I presented. I knew there were errors and you guys are bringing them to the forefront. I also believe there are teams on all the lists for all age groups that are no longer in existence and should be removed! Time to do some house cleaning of the data.

Thanks to Audie, Bruce, LL and Bash...
We do look forward to competing against the top 60 teams next year. It is the relationships and the 'friendly rivalries' that fuel the fire for me when it comes to senior softball. Without this, I'd be playing in only the senior rec leagues.
We will miss playing Hollis (not that we fared so well) and the other 55 teams.
